Kuji Rail sim release date Friday 5th October 2007

The questions is: will there be an exporter for KRS? I've not seen anything suggesting there will be, though there is (or at least will be) one for Blender (I noted this, because a few people would like to see this for TRS).

Perhaps I'll have to change my software.

I did read the post (thanks for the link - I checked the thread there first), but what I meant was that it is looking unlikely that there will be an exporter for GMax. Sorry if that was a little confusing on my part - I should have written GMax exporter when typing my own post.:o

Adam in Kuju has mentioned first it will be 3d Canvas then blender and then maybe other exporters later.

that has to be seen what other exporters Kuju will do later after 3d canvas and blender.

RECIEVED GAME!

Up here in Sweden we are about +30 swedish forum members that have received our Kuju games now. Sound in low speeds are reported very good but really, really terribel in higher speeds and you dont have to turn the headlights on as the dark outside remains the same and nothing can be seen. I don´t know if that goes for every cameraview. I have not hade the time to check that myself as my install is just minutes away.

You are invited to register as well, but the game is not even listed so that is actually a bit tricky to do that. Otherwise no problems so far but you have to have the damned CD inside your machine all the time. How very stupid and old fashioned. Mad dogs and englishmen...

I have to return to bed now but will answer ev. questions in the morning and later in the evening when I´ll return from a planned and regular hospital visit.

PS!
After install you are invited to start the game but all you get is a message that tells you to put the original CD in and take away the copy.
A funny message as I/we in fact only have the original disc...

Others have the same message and many theories was created but by pure luck I found out that you only had to restart the computer. Nothing of this was mentioned in the very, very thin manual. WHat an enormous difference from my loved and well used thick manual from the limited edition of TRS 2006. I think that I got ten times the value by bying TRS then than Kuju now. Furthermore you have no autostart of the install so you have to do that manually. No big deal ofcourse.

Everything looks very great in Kuju however and I do not regret my buing at all.

As it is now, my favorite TRS 2006 that have worked so very fine from the beginning (after SP 1 that is!) will remain my outstanding favourite for the future. My credit to Auran staff and all the very talented creators that makes the game feel new every day.

A great thank you to everybody involved!

Cheers Håkan

From what I read it doesn't sound that great compared to even trainz.. I'll prob give it a miss till theres some real reviews or more people have written about it.. :)

Seems to be a bit of an oopsy with route creation. Apparently, there is no way to delete a user created route without getting down and dirty with the file structure and xml editing.

Thats out of the box, It may be different when the developer tools are available on friday I hope.

That may be so, but deleting your own route, you created should be consideres a VERY basic feature of any software, without the user having to hack through xml files and manually cleanup directories on the HD.

All in all it looks rushed out, even though the release date has been shifted back about 7 times.
Bugs, missing features and troubles is what you get with this unpatched version, so my suggestion to any possibly buyer is to wait for the first patch or servicepack before considering to buy it.

A detailed review may follow if I get around it.

To be fair that's not the general impression I have been getting from the UK TrainSim forums. I have yet to receive my copy, so I am reserving judgement.

Sorry, may I disturb you? I am a Chinese player, so I can not speak English very well, but I like rail simulator as much as you. I am living in Sydney in Australia now, I would like to buy Kuju Rail Simulator (KRS). Could you tell whether Kuju Rail Simulator would be sold in Sydney? When? And in which shop can I buy this?

Thank you very much!

...hello real world...

8) I so welcome anything new!

I'm glad to see the new Global content!

I have so much invested in Auran Pty LLC, that it should take several items:

RailDriver Compatible.

DEM Routes available.

Content related to my experience.

Immerse me in real-time area-district content.

Here are the routes..:D

The integrated dem data interested me for srtm2 data...but just the one fact of keeping disc in drive while running it has put me off somewhat.

My interests are mainly for "a" world editor and "alternative" transport aka sailing ships and horse drawn traffic pre-car, maybe a very early steam "choo-choo".

Maybe trainz classics version 32.5 will see integrated dem data, tides, and drivable ships and cars loosened from track..bit like what Greg CEO posted to me on the trainz forum years ago re train simulator pro.;)

As a pensioner OK to say that now:)
