PRR I1sa #4423 heads north toward RG tower on the "dike line" from Newberry tower in Williamsport, PA, pulling a long line of loaded hoppers destined for the coal loading dock at Sodus Bay, NY, on Lake Ontario.

RG tower is located where the old Elmira & Williamsport, then Northern Central, line crossed Lycoming Creek to head north. The line (and the Elmira Division) back then started at Grier tower in Williamsport, where this line branched off the main Philadelphia & Erie, then PRR, main line through Williamsport. Over top of the train, you can see the bridge over Lycoming Creek.

Later, in a 1932 ETT for the Elmira Division, RG tower is called "DYKE" (sic) tower. I don't know for sure when the name changed, or when the old connection to Grier tower was decommissioned, and the bridge and RG/Dyke tower/junction removed.
