Also, that MSTS model uses a whistle from an old Semaphore Records recording of the I1 pulling an MOW train down Horse Shoe Curve. It's scary as hell sounding for sure!

That's one of the rare recordings of the whistle sounding the way it was supposed to. They had tendency to be horrendous squeakers. Most of the 3 chimes that ended up on the i1sa's were old from older 4-4-0s and 4-4-2s that were being retired and scrapped. So the whistles had many decades of constant usage. This whistle was most likely a "newer" or at least cleaner one. Im sure the slightest imperfections in the older whistles were amplified by the engines higher boiler pressure. I chose to go with a whistle similar to the one on the Horse Shoe Curve recording where it shrills.

I know they have a cosmetic restoration planned, but i don't think they will restore her to operation anytime soon. Some counties in New York State are a nightmare to deal with when it comes to stuff like insurance and all that kinda thing thats required to run steam excursions on the mainline.
Really? I guess that explains why the whistle in the recording sounds a bit like 1223's, but it kinda sounds like a combination of that & 1361's whistle

As much as Steve finds necessary, I'd imagine...
I'd honestly wait longer and have a better pack than have it now when it's unfinished or incomplete. I seem to recall Steve saying we would get some freight cars with this pack, which I imagine will only add to the time it takes to complete and release everything.

Spent some time working on an interior for the PRR N5c Caboose. It's nothing special, but still an interior none-the-less.

How much extra would be if you throw in the smell of creosote, coal, oil, steam and greases . :hehe: Chewing tobacco and smoking cigarettes with cheep whisky for flavor would be a topper :hehe::hehe:
