I'm not sure how that's going to help you but anyway.
The top notch CPU if your budget allows is the i7 980x which I'm currently using to feed the 480 GTX but any of the other socket 1366 i7's overclocked will do.

by the way the Aspire G7700 i bought 2 years ago as a gaming computer with all the bells and whistles (whatever that means today) at that time over here in Thailand.
Now its time to build a system not buy a 'ready to go' one.

By the way the images you show of avery & drexel with 118 fps I compare that to my system no overclocking plain straight draw 5km and have 43fps so there is room of improvement. Also to say that that route is a light route nothing have in it so w'll have to see what dense routes parts of my routes with 10-18 fps will do with the 980x and 480x combi.

Have a look here.
The black/garbled textures has to do with nVidia's drivers more often than not. If it were a heat/fault issue, you would be having much worse problems than just black textures.

I've got a homebuilt machine that's roughly 4 years old, but was recently upgrade with more RAM and a new Video Card. Here are some of the basic specs:
* Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 65W
* Kingston HyperX 8GB (4 x 2GB)
* EVGA 768-P3-1360-TR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB
* LIAN LI PC-7B plus II Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
* GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 Motherboard
* ENERMAX Noisetaker II EG495P-VE 485W
* Samsung 305T monitor (primary)
* Dell 2007FP monitor (secondary, rotated 90 degrees)
It has the usual compiment of optical drives, media readers, etc. Not to mention a copule of 1.5TB drives in RAID 1 to boot and several external drives connected via USB and eSATA. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit as a non-admin account.
Nothing is overclocked or run outside of spec.
Trainz usually runs at 100-200 FPS with 2560 x 1600 resolution, all settings maxed, AA at 4x. Some of the larger layouts slow down into the 60 FPS range, but surveyor is always 175-200.

Did you have any problems getting your system to work with 8GB? If I put my full 4 x 2GB in I get a blank monitor.
Just junked both HDD's and got a Western Digital Velocripator 300GB 10,000 RPM. Very fast, very quiet, very cool.
The old ones sounded like a bee flying around in a tin can.

I am stumped. My device manager lists 2 of the processors. Does that mean I have the processor working at around 4.2 GHz. I am saving for either a macintosh or a dell home computer. With my specs, can I run trainz 2010 at fair fps. If not, can I play trainz 2009 at fair fps. I would like to upgrade to a better recent version of trainz. Trainz 2006 sp1 and trainz classics 1&2 run excellent on my laptop with direct x 10 installed. I will not attempt to overclock.

No you've only 1 cpu and I wouldn't try 2010 on it.
I am not sure because gandalf had a computer with 2.16ghz also just like me and has trainz 2010. Do you think I can try trainz 2009. Since you don't really think I can run trainz 2010 on my laptop, I guess I can't really run 2012. I mean there are people with less speed than me like with 1.8 ghz and run trainz 2009 and 10 at a fair fps.
