I care about it.
I agree that JR Locomotives are Awesome, High Quality locomotive.
Just replacing the Plow is not problem for author.

How do you know it's an easy to replace the plows? If they're integrated with the mesh it's not, and what about attachment points if they're not?

If you think you can do it, go for it on your own models.

Can you compare this JR GEVOs Plows to JR SD70ACe plows...???? That will clear what "smart plow" means..!!!!

Woah buddy, I just asked you if you could describe the difference, as I'm not really seeing much. No need to start freaking out over it.

Is a smart plow just a plow that the same width as the locomotive body? Is it that the lower corners are chamfered rather then notched? Or is it something else? Those are the only 2 differences I'm seeing in your pictures (in fact I don't see the width thing, but I'll take your word on it.)

I've never heard the term "Smart Plow" until this thread so I'm understandably confused as to what you're talking specifically about.

It is an old model that was correct for its time.
If a new model is ever made it would reflect what is being used at that time.

The BNSF ES44 was created in May of 2009 according to my records and last revised in Aug 2012. It will not be revised any further at this point. As I said above, if anything a brand new model would be produced. There are many things about it well beyond the plow that need to be changed in my eyes.

This thread has caused me to make several calls to Nebraska and it has the people Omaha scratching their head. I also made a call to EMD (Caterpillar) and GE Transportation. The so-called "SMART" plow is not now nor has it ever been in the parts inventory of either GE Transportation or EMD(Caterpillar). Reps from GE and EMD did inform me (in between laughing) that each front plow is made to each customer's specifications. As Norfolksouthern37 has stated, his plows are correct for the time that he made them. Also, I find no relevance for you reference a product made by two different companies. This would be like comparing the front bumper of a 2010 Ford Mustang to a 2010 Chevy Camero. Lastly, the plow is not something that anyone will be looking at as they going down the track. It's also not something that would hinder the operation of a locomotive operating in the virtual world. My suggestion would be to let it go, close the topic and enjoy the trains, or if you are who I think you are, go back to the truck sim world. There is another option, you could "just" create the plow yourself. Meanwhile, I think the other 499,999 of us are happy with what we have.

Couldn't have said it better myself....reading through this thread is like watching a train wreck...you know you shouldn't watch but you can't help yourself. In the meantime...I'll pick myself up off the floor because I fell out of my chair with laughing so much.
