Hey L&N fans! You didn't think I was done with you yet, did you?

These were built with an aluminum body a few years before their steel cousins. Both L&N cars are stenciled for alumina loading, so you'll be able to run them together. I'm assuming that alumina is corrosive to steel, which is why these were built aluminum and the steel car is urethane lined.
The Alco C424s of the Morristown and Erie would look very nice, as would a green mountain RS-1, or a RS-11. Great hoppers, every scheme looks great, no matter what the colors are.

Adam,
I didn't look real hard, but I didn't find any information to indicate that alumina is corrosive to steel. It might have something to do with the quality/purity of the alumina being transported.
BTW, Nice! Now JR is going to have to create an aluminum smelter.
Regards,
what ever happened to the autoparts boxcar? and the the JR passenger cars?
what ever happened to the autoparts boxcar?
John expect more stuff like this! In fact I may also convert this large elevator for ship transloading and add docks, etc.
Thanks,
Mike
If you mean an 86' box, I have never started one of those. I am planning to give a little attention to the 60' boxes I did as well as some new skins.
