Is the Tram Reverser now really needed because their is a rule to reverse trams?

As the title says, is a tram reverser now really needed because of a Reverser Rule?

I'm asking because it might okay to replace the object with a track spline. The only issue I found is that if you do (as a test), the track may not end up straight, depending on how you fill the space in.

Why it's not a very large object, does getting rid of it, and replacing with spline track improve the frame rates - and also where can I get frame rates in numbers?

Seems I have overlooked this item. Kind of curious about what it does in practice. Although working on a rail project I still have a giant tramway based on what was here in Glasgow until 1962. I know some English cities way back had loops at a terminus and up here it was a case of reversing onto the other track with the driver walking to the other end in reality. Because of that I put in an invisible loop at every terminus. Not very realistic I'll grant you but thought it practical. Also have a set of all of Silversmith's excellent Glasgow trams. Help my curiosity.

Twisting what was said? Really? He asked a question about the item in question. I'd prefer him to ask it here than to start a new thread
