The community could enjoy your work if you would upload it somewhere else, or is that too tricky? What would you all do if Auran went bust and the DLS was gone overnight? Oh yeah, silly me, you'd upload it somewhere else...
I've got a big tub of popcorn here, this is going to be good.

why don't you get in touch with the guys at trainzproroute and see if they will host your stuff

Just downloaded here.
It's two oclock here and finished downloading my last route from DLS. The only problem with hosting your routes somewhere else is in most cases you will need content from the download station unless it is built in. I did not renew my fct because I do not have 2010 and I'm not going to pay for it just to get content. I'm already paying for broad band so that I can download things faster. I'll just enjoy what I have for now.

Paul, you may not believe it, but I actually understand what you're trying to say and I really don't want to start up this debate again, but uploading routes somewhere else just isn't a solution as far as I'm concerned. I really don't want the constant inquiries about missing assets since the other sites won't automatically look for missing assets and download them. At least the DLS will do that if the assets are on the DLS.

TPR is a great site and I actually have some of my stuff there. I'm just not interested in creating anymore nor continuing this debate.

Fair enough, that's your choice.
But if the assets are missing from your route and on the DLS people can still download them (if they have a supported version of Trainz or a FCT). If they are not on the DLS then they wouldn't have found them anyway, so nothing changes if your route is hosted somewhere else.

It was posted: that uploads may continue for some undetermined time after Sept 1st, but it is advisable to upload well before Sept 1st to insure they are handled.

This thread had me scared for a moment, until I remembered just what it is that is "over". But maybe, since I just renewed my FCT, I should DL everything that won't be on DLS after today and keep it archived away.

Is your belief that all pre TC3 content will be removed from the DLS based upon any facts at all (for example statements made by Auran staff) or is it something you just made up?
