interiors for steam ships?

Has anyone had the idea of making an interactive interior for steamboats? For instance, making the cab be the engine room since that's where the boiler and actual controls are anyway (the commands are passed down from the bridge via telegraph)? Just an idea.

Sorry for the double-post, but something like this except with only 1 boiler (that way you don't have to move around and engine specs are simplified):
