I am helping my father with Trainz 2006 and have downloaded locos etc. He is not online so I have to do the downloading and save the content to a folder then in turn to a usb pen drive. I take the drive to his and all seems to go well with the "install" going down. But we cannot see any new content in Trainz. Where should this content be in windows explorer?
There appears to be loads of stuff in the "edit" folders ! Comit has been done many times but still cannot see owt!
Any help please:'( .. How do we tell if SP1 is in? Would SP1 sort our woes?
Thanks

Make sure the content isn't missing dependencies. If some things are missing, the content won't show up.

As far as telling if you have SP1, someone else will need to help you. I'm not at my own PC at the moment.

You can tell if you have SP1 installed by looking at the build number at the lower right hand corner of the screen. If the build number is a four digit number beginning beginning with 26 or 27, you do not have SP1 installed. If you have SP1 installed, then the build will be a four digit number beginning with 30

Since your father does not have an internet connection it is unlikely that he does have SP1 installed. I don't know whether or not any commercial versions of TRS 2k6 with SP1 were sold, but as far as I can tell, one had to purchase the software, and download the SP. Although it may have been available from Auran's on-line store at one point, when I recently obtained it, it was only available through download.

I suspect that you are not playing the game yourself, and that you are not downloading content through the Content Manager which comes with TRS 2006. The most expedient solution to your problem is probably to purchase a copy of TRS for yourself, and install it. Then you can use the Content manager to download the content, including the dependencies, and pack the content and dependencies into a ~.cdp file. You would then install to your father's computer from the ~.cdp you create, and everything should work (although there may still be some issues with certain older content). Otherwise, if all you will ever do is download content for your father, you could contact Auran to enquire about special permission to install the software on two computers so you would have the download manager on yours.
