LARS and ProtoLARS
Hi Indy --
Way back I used to provide a little more detail in the text under the thumbnail. This is from an older (2007) session:
Note: In this session three yellow markers represent a LARS section of track; two ProtoLARS. Freight cars will load or unload when stationary on a LARS section. If one car in the consist has been stationary on a ProtoLARS section for one minute, all freight cars in the consist will load or unload in sequence. Right clicking on the section of track will show what it programmed to produce or consume.
So, the markers come in pairs - one represents the beginning and the other the end of the interactive track.
If their are two sets of 3 yellow markers (LARS or a standard interactive track section), stop the train with the freight car or freight cars between the yellow markers. The freight cars will load or unload.
ProtoLARS (two sets of 2 yellow markers) works slightly differently. Spot one car between the markers. There will be a delay. Depending on how the ProtoLARS has been configured either all freight cars will load/unload, or loading/unloading will happen in sequence, with up to a minute delay between individual cars loading/unloading. With ProtoLARS the locomotive does not have to be coupled to the consist; with LARS it does for loading/unloading to happen.
The difference in spacing of the yellow markers is because the LARS interactive track is much longer than the ProtoLARS.
