IndustRail -- the next iteration of Urban IndustRail

"Is it on the download station?"

That particular one is VMD payware.

It's superb, but needed a bit of fiddling with the textures to get it showing correctly in TS2010.

Phil
Now that I looked at them again, the one in your shots does look quite different!
Unfortunately it looks like it's not currently available on their site.

On another note, I've greatly enjoyed your routes since I got Trainz.
As I have TS2010 I was quite happy to find a few weeks ago the non-SpeedTree versions.

Thanks,
:)
Barry

Hi Barry --

The Speedtrees certainly knocked my frame rates and I must confess I'm not one of those who actually like them. Hence the revised routes that I uploaded to the DLS.

This is the same locomotive that rejuvenated this thread:

Hi Phil,

I was wondering where can I download this route?

What would be really cool if a routebuilder used each and every one of the locos and cars known to US & Canada, on the DLS, and included them on his route.

I am sure that quite alot of the buildings on the DLS are included on this route, but what if all the buildings on the DLS were on a route ?

If all the other assets were used (trees, people...etc...) that would be really cool.

That would make downloading thousands of assets easier, than hunting them down yourself.

Hi Zero --

"I was wondering where can I download this route?"

On the Download Station. Just search for "IndustRail", making sure the search includes TRS2004.

The latest iteration of IndustRail is for all versions of Trainz bar the TC series.

At the moment I'm doing a minor update - a few corrections plus adding trees.

Hell no!~! I'm not sure of the total number of items on the DLS but it must run into several thousands, even 10's of thousands. My life is just a little too short to add them all to a route.

Where'd you get the loco? Also, what version of Trainz is it for? Do you know if there's an Amtrak Phase I version of it?

David --

Where'd you get the loco?

A long, long time ago (about 2004 if memory serves me correctly) from VMD payware:

http://www.virtual-motive-division.com/

Even by today's standards it is outstandingly good.

Unfortunately it's no longer available from their site. I have, however, heard rumours about the Second Coming of the VMD old payware, updated for use in TS12.

Also, what version of Trainz is it for?

TRS2004. It showed faulty in TS10 onwards but was not all that difficult to correct it for use in TS12.

Do you know if there's an Amtrak Phase I version of it?

As far as I know there is no Amtrak version.

For anybody interested, I'm working on an update of the route to make it error free in TS12 and adding more details. I've posted a few videos (best viewed full screen and HD):

Can you tell me how to make it work in TS12? Or could you make a download of the corrected version for TS12 for me please? Looks like an interesting route by the way. Also do you know of any programs I could use to reskin the locomotive as an Amtrak?

I have some questions about your routes, Phil.
Is beside the river the middle of riverside?
Are portswitchingco and yardswitchingco parts of any other routes?
Is urban indstrail part of industrail?
What is urban industrial?
And besidetheriver and mad river extended are part of austral bay v5a, right?

Hi David --

In answer to your e-mail, and without wishing in any way to criticise the author, the FP45 on the Download Station is substantially inferior to the VMD model in the screen shot.

" ... could you make a download of the corrected version for TS12 for me please."

Sorry, it's payware so I'm not at liberty to do that unless you obtain the permission of the original authors.

"Can you tell me how to make it work in TS12?"

There are missing textures that needed to be replaced.

"Austral Bay" for TRS2004, which was originally based on Jim "Sniper" Ward's classic Port Ogden & Northern, was renamed "PortOgden&Northern" when I contacted Jim about using the route's proper name in Trainz. It has undergone several updates and revisions to accommodate later versions of Trainz.

"BesideTheRiver" became "RiversideRailroadCo" as it, too, evolved. Likewise "Urban Industrial" became "Urban IndustRail" and finally just "IndustRail".

Then there are two small modules, "YardSwitchingCo" and "PortSwitchingCo":

YardSwitchingCo_Centre.jpg

and:

PortSwitchingCo_map2.jpg

As those who have followed the evolution of my routes will know, these two modules have been modified and reused several times.

YSC and PSC, in substantially modified form, are now the two termini of both "IndustRail" and "RiversideRailroadCo":

IndustRail_map_00.jpg

and:

RiversideRailroadCo_map.jpg

PSC has been added as a module to the north east part of PO&N.

YSC was the basis of two additional routes. I added a southern extension to make "HarborMaster":

HarborMaster_TS12_Map_Comp.jpg

And a northern extension to make my favourite route, "DownTownTractionCo":

DTC_00.jpg

There was a passing fling with a mega-route by adding MadRiverExtended (which was a modified version of a GFisher route to make it more frame-rate friendly) to Austral Bay. But I found that this was too big and too cumbersome.

The latest pair of routes are IntenCity and Krashnburne:

KrashnburneRRCo_TS12_Map_Compressed.jpg

Both are designed with challenging AI operations - they are single track routes with passing loops and AI trainz that travel both with and against the direction of travel of the player train.

Amongst all this are variants of routes and sessions for multiplayer operations.

Wow. I now have PO&N, Harbor Master, And DTC (all Built-In), and Austral Bay with MRE, Riverside Electric 3A, Industrail 4A, Krashnburne and Intencity. I am now at at work removing some of the AI tracks from some of the routes. Are there any Routes/Modules I am missing? And I had noticed that the "bottom" of DTC and the "Top" of H-M were similar...
and are you aware that there are all kinds of locomotives lettered for your routes?
And if you want another route by the guy who made the MSTS PO&N, try Chicago Metro 3 by Sniper297 (I'm 99% sure it's the same person).

If I got the DLS (free) version, do you think you might be able to make it work on TS12 for me please?

Dave --

If you mean "SF-FP45-001" from the Download Station it works just fine for me without any modifications in TS12.

Phil

Phil. I am interested in getting the Cab Forward for Harbor Master TS12 but the link posted in DS is invalid.
https://rapidshare.com/files/1125639234/US_Loco_SP_CabForward_AC-12__4294_RapidShare.zip
Rapidshare Requires membership and I am not a member. Is there another place I can get the content.

TS12 is woefully short of US steam locos for "normal" locals. No USRA wheel arrangements like 0-4-0, 2-8-0, 4-4-2, or even 2-10-0. The N&W Y6b is beautiful but few shortlines had equipment this large. I am not talented enough with Content Creator to modify my old power to the new mesh styles. I have TONS of useless content from pre-2009 TS but they will not function. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Nick

No fee download - are you absolutely sure?

Hi Nick --

I subscribe to RapidShare so I have a cookie on my PC that gives me immediate and direct access to downloads. However, for others there certainly used to be a free download option on the site and as far as I know that is still available. If you hunt around on the screen you should be able to find it.

"TS12 is woefully short of US steam locos for "normal" locals. No USRA wheel arrangements like 0-4-0, 2-8-0, 4-4-2, or even 2-10-0."

Ben Neal has a wonderful collection of US steam on his site, though they need some work to make them run in TS12. I did made three of them TS09 compatible (they also work in TS12) and Ben was kind enough to give me permission to mount them on RapidShare and thus share them with the Trainz community. This is the link:

Tell me how you go.

This is the 2-6-0:

Ben has also done a SG Shay:

Edit --

I've just tired the RapidShare link on another PC without the cookie.

On the screen I see "Save File to ... ... your computer" with an arrow that bounces up and down over a PC. When I click on "Download" it allows me to download the file. Is it the same for you?
