Incompatible Spline

I am modifying one of my existing routes and have added some new track. When I try to add a signal, I get the message 'Incompatible Spline'. I have checked that I am working in the right layer and that nothing is locked, but whatever I do, I get the same message. Any ideas please!!??

Close whatever you are working on and go into Content Manager.
Change the filter to track packaged to false

Select all the track.
Open for edit. If you have a lot of tracks installed, select a bunch at a time rather than all at once.

Wait a minute...

With the track still selected, revert to original. You might want to do this process too in bunches as well.

This will reset your track back to track.

The issue has something to do with the database and N3V has been unable to figure this one out as well after I reported this a couple of years ago. It doesn't occur often anymore but occasionally it does rear up its ugly head.

Or... There may be a terrain spline below the track, like an embankment or ballast spline. The game thinks you are trying to add a signal to that instead of the track.

Usually if that's it, clicking a few times while slightly moving the mouse will enventually get you on the sweet spot for Surveyor to see the track and the signal will place.

For a better solution, put that spline on its own layer and then *lock* it. Surveyor will now act like the spline isn't there.

Many thanks for your suggestions and guidance. Will spend part of the day following through. I don't think it is due to a another spline, it is happening wherever I try to install a signal. Will report back if I get it resolved!

Thanks again

Je suis aussi dans cette situation de "spline incompatible" en émettant des feux sur mes voies...
je pense que c'est un défaut du Trainz 22 - 128486... merci d'alerter Auran... Bonne soirée. Pierre.

There's a quick fix for the problem. N3V is working on a permanent one.

Il existe une solution rapide au problème. N3V travaille sur un projet permanent.

Hello, and my apologies for typing with the caps lock on previously.
An accident bound to happen
The incompatible spline has hit my two major railways in TRS 22SE.
I have tried a number of solutions suggested on this forum but as yet have not succeeded in passing go.
It all happened a few weeks back. Everything was going fine as I upgraded the south coast new line ....and then suddenly I could not upgrade the signals ...anywhere
Just before this happened I lost my lines in TRS 19SE. They. have disappeared.
I assume the issues are not connected.
Whoever is working on a fix I wish you every success.
Any suggestions as yo what I might do next.
I have deleted and tried to manufacture a new line all by itself but the incompatible spine is there.
I reckon because the splines on the track are the overheads, the is all they are reading ( if Understand what some of you are telling me) but I do not know how to add track spline when there are none there at the moment.
Looking forward to hearing from some of you who have managed to overcome the jinx
God bless you
Rev Ron

Thank you pware and J Citron, I think I got it and signals are arriving regularly although a few clicks are still needed in places. Thank you!

Can you explain a ball by ball run down of the above please
Left click on "Developer", on the top left of the opening screen. go down to Rebuild data and hold the CTR key while you hit the enter key. this will do an extended data base repair.

Sorry John, I have a better solution ;)

In surveyor, while editing your route. Replacing the current track with either TANE track or any other Auran track will allow you to place track objects onto the track such as catenary, speed boards, signals, buffers and more. Once you have achieved placing down the required track objects, replace the track again to the track you wish to use

Save your route, that solves it! Until N3V fixes it

N3V has fixed the problem. There's a quick fix available right now and on Friday, pre-release Hotfix 1 is available through TRS22 and TRS-Plus beta stream. If you install this, be prepared for multiple downloads to bring your version up to the current version prior to running a lengthy DBR/precaching - my DBR/precaching ran for 23 hours, FYI.
