in need of help

i recently purchased a copy of trainz 2006 wth trainz classic included
at first when i started using cmp i thought there was something wrong
so after trying to solve problems using this forum and getting nowhere i reinstalled my os and just tc
the cmp still acts the same but i belive its working
what im seeing
there is no download speed (the meter doesnt move)
goes from download to install rather quickly and seems stuck on install
but the box beside the item goes from white to blue in due time
doesnt change from one item to the next once turned blue

i belive it is working cause if you go into cache internet and thumbnails stuff keeps showing up
with that in mind
what do i do next
here is what im getting
cache thumbnails - a pic of what im downloading and kuid xxxxx xxxx(name of file)
cache internet - a cache file
- a cdp file with nothing in it
- and other files with stuff in them PHP
- jpg file

where do i go from here
any help would be appreciated

Hello and Welcome to the Forums,

What your problem seems to be is an actual computer problem. Could you please list your computer specs here so we might be able to further help you? Please correct me if I am wrong, what you are telling us is; When you click "Download" through CMP and try to download the asset the bar does not more and the KBS (Kilobytes per second) is a 0.00? If so then your problem is your Ram. You need 4gigs of availiable ram to run Trains effectivley. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

CMP connects to the DLS.

Step one go to the web site DLS and click on download page, then download ftp.

After that import the .cdp file.

This will verify your userid and password are working on the DLS.

Step two do a search in cmp on location DLS. That will show if CMP is linking to the DLS correctly.

See how you get on. You don't need 4 gigs of memory by the way and at this point I don't think your computer specs are relevant to the problem.

I assume you're are on broadband.

issues

i can import files from dls no problem so my password and id work
but cmp still dont work proper

im running on a intel core 2 duo cpu t5250 @ 1.50ghz
32 bit os and 2 gig ram

id like to get the cmp to work properly but can be content with the way things are working now

any more help would be appreciated

Have you enabled permissions in your firewall for CMP?

I belive your RAM is to low, or your video card settings are low. Take your pick.

one gig of ram works fine. I run trs2008 with 1,25.
Try the DLS and download using the FTP option.
This method is also faster but does not download dependencies.

I don't know where this idea comes from that you need 4Gb of Ram to run Trainz? CMP TRS2006 and TC3 run OK on my PC with 1 Gb ram, figure that one out......Ahsan often says that you need at least 2Gb ram to run CMP, bit of a myth really. Now it seems 4Gb is the minimum. Get real!

What you have done now is demonstrated that your password in cmp is working or was when it picked up the information from the DLS.

Next question is do you have a first class ticket? If not then what maybe happening is you are trying to download something such as a layout that has more than 100 mb of dependencies.

Clean out the downhelper tab. Go the web site and check to see if you have anything in the download cart. Basically this must be empty.

Now try to download a simple item such as BR MDO 21ton KUID2: 86627:2348:2, its one of mine and doesn't have a million dependencies.

I can think of more questions if need be.

tried downloading the item you sugested and still doesnt work
firewall is turned off
