Ignore signal driver command

having a bit of a dilema with a terminus on my route. The set up is a four bay Terminus with sidings opposite to turn around steam locos. Problem that im having is that engines coming in from the main line wont change the final switch to get into the bay. normally i would put an aditional signal in before the final switch which, while not being the best or most accurate of soloutions, works welll enough. however with the shunting going on i cant place this signal without the shunters then being effected.

the ideal solution is if I can find a driver command that instructs the AI to ignore the next signal. otherwise im not sure what to do to keep things running smoothly...?

You have to miss out some signals entering a terminal station but at the end of the track use a buffer signal and an invisible signal close together. I will post a screenshot shortly when I can get into photobucket.

Here is what I mean at the end of the track.

Hi there
A useful rule is "set selected signal state" on the DLS. You have to name the signal. You should also use the same command to reset the signal to automatic when you finish so that it works for other trains later.

I presume you want the shunter to fetch the consist out of the terminus?
An AI sequence to couple to a train on a siding or terminus (occupied track) could go something like this ( there are other ways as well)
"Drive to " or "drive via" trackmark
"change direction" if applicable, the loco must now be driving towards the consist to couple to.
"set selected signal state" of named signal between loco and consist to caution or go(your choice) ahead, left or right.
"control Junction" of named junction between loco and consist in whatever direction.
"set DCC throttle" to about +0.25 for loco to slowly move forward.
"couple ahead"
"set selected signal state" of the named signal to automatic to let it go back to usual functions for other trains.
"Free junction" of named junction to allow it back to automatic function.
I don't have access to content manager at the moment to get the KUIDS or check the actual names of the rules but they are on the DLS or built in.
There are also many other ways of doing this, I have found this reasonably reliable in TS12 HF4.
Hope this is more helpful than confusing,

Tom

With situations like this, I found that you can't put an inward-facing signal - one that faces towards the terminus tracks, but you can put signals on the end facing towards the mainline away from the terminal on the end of each stub-track near the junctions. Without the inward facing signals, your trains will pull into the terminal and you can even order AI drivers to couple to consists on the stub-side without any issues at all.

This may not be 100% prototypical, but the AI drivers will defy logic sometimes and we need to do what we can to get them to cooperate.
