How would one find and change an Auto Running Number texture set?

Hello,
As some of you may or may not know, I'm working on my first reskin (which is shown below) and I am unable to figure out how to change the ARN textures. It seems like I can't find them, and the ones under the Mesh_Alpha_numbers seem to not open correctly in Photoshop CS6.

Any idea how I can get my own numbers on this? It's a JR 50' boxcar.
 
Depending how these auto numbers are set up, either with scripting or the "normal" way, look in the object's folder for an xxx_alpha_numbers folder which should have the number set(s) included in it. These numbers are either alpha layered textures or in the past had a texture with an alpha mask included.

You can recolour existing alpha layered number textures, say, from black to red (or whatever) IF you repaint ONLY the numbers colour you want to change, although that texture might have an alpha layer. This will work as I do this constantly on my locomorives with auto numbers. Otherwise make your own alpha layered number textures and keep their names AS THEY WERE on the original set of numbers when replacing these and that should be that.

Easy.
