How to download from Subpar Productions?

Hello. I am a relatively new player of Trainz, and recently I have tried to download a climax and shay locomotive for Trainz: A New Era, but I then found out that I also need to download a cab from Subpar Productions. When I tried to download the cab, the page converted to a bunch of text and symbols. I am unsure of what to do from here or whether this is even supposed to happen. I would appreciate it if someone could advise.

I don't know anything about that particular site but what browser were you using and how, exactly, did you attempt to do the download?

For example, did you try to download by clicking the link? If so, try using the right mouse button on the link and then select "Save Link As", or similar depending on your browser, from the popup menu. Just a suggestion.

I have uploaded several of Ben's wonderful locomotives to the Download Station. Search with "philskene" as the author.

Sounds like you are trying to download them using Firefox. Try using a different browser, EG; Google Chrome or MS Internet Explorer. (I sometimes get the same result as you if I try Firefox).

Right-click on the download link.

Choose save-as.

This will bring up a box to save the link-referenced CDP file.

Click Save or OK, which will download and save your asset instead of opening it.

Why not just go direct to his site (Subpar Productions) and get it.

No, you don't "have" to do anything!!!

If you want the content, then it might be worth while trying what I suggested in my post #4. eg; "try downloading from the site with a different browser"...

I had the same problem with the Edge Browser and switched to Chrome and had no issues.......
