Blue Passenger Pack

Trainz Maverick
Can’t see a specific thread for this, but can someone from N3V please explain why these are only available to Trainz Plus, I.e. subscription customers, and not those who bought the game outright whether direct or from Steam? Particularly as you are actually charging for the content on top of the subscription it seems.

Looking at the screenshots I have to take issue with the quality, given the asking price. The interior views particularly the window frames look wrong, not like a Mark One should appear. I notice there are no screenshots of the cab interiors either - for that price would be expecting detail on a par with what we now enjoy in TSW. How were the sounds sourced? Are they accurate new recordings and mixes or just reusing existing ones from years ago.

And when all is said and done, it’s hard to engage with this type of DLC when the player experience in Trainz remains so basic. Even after all these years there’s still no easy way to set up a player timetable run or scenario and have the AI signaller set the route for you, let alone a comprehensive all day timetable. Trainz has been left far behind in that respect by the other games - even SimRail and Diesel Railcar Simulator.

If you require an answer from N3V, your best bet is to post on the Discord server. They don't hang out here very much any more. You can send a notification to them on a forum post by putting @N3VSupport in your post.

I don’t use Discord.

Why keep an “official” forum if they don’t actually frequent it?!

Well, I guess the changes were in response to laws being passed around the world making companies that operate social media sites responsible for what gets posted on them. This is what the MyTrainz agreement says now.

(m) We have no obligation to monitor the Trainz Forum but we may do so.

If they don't monitor it then some lawyer in Brisbane thinks they can't be held responsible in court. If you ask, you get a boiler plate answer that is clearly lawyer speak.

Because they are exclusive to subscription customers. Pay more = get more. Sort of how the world works, no?

I downloaded them at no extra cost :)

Pay more = Get more. ? You mean pay rent and then lose it all once you leave the subscription lease agreement.

Actually yes, that's how renting works.

Nobody is forcing Vern or any of the whinging minority to pay for a subscription.. but that subscription comes with certain benefits that I really struggle to find a reason to whine about. If you want them, buy them. If you don't want to pay, you don't get them.

I might add that employees of N3V should not be pushing the company line in this forum. The forum is for members. Cheers.

I'm pretty sure it's still N3V's forum and they can post what they like on here: which, might I add, for the most part are generally incredibly reasonable with what they allow. No way would TSW's official forum allow as much Trainz talk as Trainz's forum has allowed of TSW/RW/MSTS in the past.

There are numerous people complaining about N3V not being active enough on their own forums whilst you're advocating for the opposite as, no doubt, anything an N3V member says will be accused of pushing the company line.
