how exactly does one tell a moderator from a normal poster?

Well, I have noticed that the moderators don't have much that shows that they are moderators.
I have seen other forums where the modrators had either something near their name that said "Moderator" or "Official" that made it easy to tell them from normal posters.
Have you moderators ever considered somehow adding some sort of special avatar or something that shows that you guys are moderators?

Also, I have yet to meet all the moderators, and I wonder who they are.

A normal poster, would be an imposter moderator ... You'll know it is a real moderator for sure, when you get an infraction, or ban :hehe:

Go to any of the forum pages, the ones that list the threads, and scroll to the bottom where the moderators for that forum will be listed.

Any registered user can "dob you in" to a moderator if they think a thread is getting out of hand. My observation is that those threads are nearly always in the same fora.

Except that they have the title "moderator" or (in case of Zec) "community assistant".

Clear enough for me.
