I think both versions are excellent. Please upload both and let the user decide which one to use to honor and remember HJP.

Ron: I think the images are of the same memorial (one's a close up)
Mike (meridious): Excellent. Perhaps a few words could be added in the 'description, config file'. This could easily be updated when other members 'pass over'.
Perhaps a 'Sadly Missed' list.
It is the 'surest fact of life' we'll all be there one day (Talk about a reunion party ).
Craig: If its not to late, perhaps it would be better to wait until after the funeral. I'm sure Alastair's family have enough on their plate now, I know from personal experience that funeral arrangements are 'A pain in the butt', regardless of how much you loved the departed.
I have just received an email from Terry Franks (TafWeb) about another matter, and I don't think he knows about Alastair, I'll inform him when I reply.

I will place it trackside on my current route at the point I was working when I heard the news.
As another mark of respect I shall in future refrain from calling the AI "Alastair". Nothing was ever meant by it, but I know it drove hjp nuts....

One of our Canadian Trainzers, Al Sharpe (skybear) passed away Dec. 2005. The original tribute post was lost in the old forum crash, but an abridged version is found here.

I was wondering if Auran could donate some space at the top of this Forum page for a snapshot of our dearly beloved Trainzers as and when they pass on, there is enough room for a few photographs and some small lettering along the lines of "our past friends no longer with us" or something like that on the maroon masthead. When we ALL open our forum page in the future, we will have an everlasting reminder of our friends who are sadly not with us anymore. Just a little idea...

... this post is a shock to me, I was working with Alastair on the creation of the LSSH (hydraulic) version of my shunter, he had provided me with photographic reference for the conversion of the LSSE, and it is his loco that I modelled. We had been in e-mail conversation and had agreed to release it when he was happy with a new engine spec file that he was compiling for it ... he had the sole beta version of the LSSH ... what do I do now ? ... I still have the original model, but I know that he was not happy with how it performed.

My own personal opinion is that you should respect Alastair's wishes and let the project be buried with him.
But saying that, you obviously knew him well, so I guess, in the end, only you can decide what to do.
