Help On Troubles Reported

How can I get someone to work the Troubles I already reported?

Lot good the product is if you can't get it to work.

A few details for starters would be nice.

This is the only reply I found with you as the author, and it offers very little detail regarding the problem you want someone to help you with.

Where have you reported these troubles??

IF you're talking about helpdesk/Auran......other than the holiday period, 70 staff have recently been reduced to 3. This will present delays.

In the mean time, suggest you post a little more constructively here.....so we can help you.

see Rob's thread about the demise of the helpdesk, so post your problems here on the relevant part of the forum, and you will probably get help.

But not if you are going to complain about free help, whether from Auran or the other customers.

Hey Guys

What's going on is that this Forum is your Helpdesk for the time being. I'm sure the Auran staff will help when they get the chance but in the meantime I suggest that those who need help should post their issues here with as much detail as possible so that others can help. There's a lot of talented people here.

Cheers

AJ

For TRS2006:

Jet vRRRRR.RR Build 1234.5.QQQQQ on Jul 2 2007 at 17:06:31.

Begin:
? 00000D28 Warn 0:00.1 Trainz : InterfaceTextDB> failed to load compiled interfacetext file.

Has it ever run. Appears to be a bad install or the compiled interfacetext file has become corrupted. You might have a registry problem and if so, you might try repairing your registry with Registry Mechanic. There's a scaled down free version available.

Questions:

1. What operating system are you running (Windows XP?)
2. Has TRS2006 ever worked on your PC?
2a. If "yes it has" then, what did you "do" immediately before it stopped working - Installed new hardware or anything like that?

(And I agree, seems like a bad install / corrupt file/registry item ... but let us know on the above)

:)

I've run two registry fix programs. What is the 'compiled interfacetext file'?

It's a C++ script file that has been compiled (or converted) from the text script file to a compiled file that your machine runs. A script file is just an interface to bridge the gap between the language that we understand and the one the machine understands.
It still sounds to me like you probably have a corrupted install. Did the game ever run?

I found a fix that worked:
You may also need to add to the trainzoptions.txt file in the /trs2006 folder the following line

-intro=disable
