Help! My TrainzUtil.exe corrupted .

I tried to run a command line database repair and i received this error message : " TrainzUtil.exe not a Win32 application " . Checked the bin folder of my Trainz istallation and noticed that the size of the TrainzUtil.exe is 0 kb .

Can someone upload the missing file ? I don't want to reinstall the game .

My Trainz installation version is : TS12 build 49922.

Check the license, nobody can upload core files anywhere legally. Anyway if one file is corrupted there are probably more. Reinstall, patch, then copy the entire TS12 folder to a backup for the next time it happens.

Not to mention that what caused this is likely an impending disk failure. Back up everything you can and run a CHKDSK /R, but plan on getting a new disk soon.

There's no problem with the hard drive .

Removed the builtin and userdata folders , uninstalled the game . Reinstalling .

I think it was caused by the too much bulgarian faulty content that i previously installed .

That's not that old. There are programs you can get to monitor your harddrive. I have one called HD Sentinel. They have a free trial version and the paid one is about $23, but it will actually warn you well before your HD exhibits problems, so a HD failure will never sneak up on you. http://www.hdsentinel.com/.

There's no problem with the hard drive

How do you know if you don't check it? Don't expect Windows to tell you as invariably it doesn't until it's too late.

If, when I used to repair peoples faulty PC's I have heard, "there's nothing wrong with xxxxx" once, I must have heard it hundreds of times and guess what? most of the time there was a faulty item of hardware. Often not terminal but due to lack of giving the PC the TLC it should have, in other words never doing any preventive maintenance. Drives develop faults, even new ones or suffer file corruption due to crashes or bad shutdowns, plugs and leads work loose, memory works loose, dirt and fluff gums up fans, lack of proper cooling cause premature failure of component including those on a hard drive.

Depending on the brand of drive, most drive manufacturers have a free test utility on their website. Newer drives are all "smart" compliant and will report pending failures to the software.
