Having multiple junction layout problems

My tracks are straight and true, but when I make multiple junction, they go all wavy! Example: Switch yard (hump). I have tried all that i know and looked around but still need help in learning how to make good (multiple) junctions. Youtube video would be great as I learn alot by watching, but any help would be greatly accepted. :)

Thx.

I don't fully understand what your asking. When I'm adding a junction to a straight piece of track, sometimes the track bends again. I just straighten it back out.

Try Railworks, that lets YOU lay the track and make transition curves without trying to "help" by bending all attached sections into improbable pretzels.

Seriously, this may help;

For doing stuff like yard ladders I've found the best method is to lay out parallel yard tracks, add short sections to the ends, then use the straighten tool on the long sections in the middle. Same for the yard ladder switches, lay the ladder straight, drag a short curved switch section from that and hit the previous part with the straighten tool. Insert a spline point then start another switch beyond that, hit the section between the added spline and the new switch with the straighten tool. Repeat until insane, then come on the forum and rant about why they won't fix the tracklaying tool with an option to disable that idiot helper.

Just to add to Sniper's post, straight yard ladders are a fiddle, but are easy once you get the hang of it...

.

What is important is the placement of spline vertices and where the 'Straighten Tack' tool is used. Without even looking at your ladder I know you almost for sure have half the number of vertexes you should and that stops you using the 'straighten' tool because you CAN'T straighten two consecutive lengths of track. You need an 'unstraightened' bit between. Like this...

This sounds like the possible problem. I have tried to use splines like you are saying but with no true results. My tracks still look like ==/~~/~~/~~?==.
(As soon as I figure out how to sucessfully take photos in trainz I can post some. GIMP always turns out black screen.)

When you attach the curved leg of the turnout the ladder will kink, you are doing nothing wrong at that stage. But you gotta get that extra spline point in. Each length of track leading to a diverging vertex must be straightened, then the straight leg of the turnout is left unstraightened. If that's too confusing, download my McCall Yard (tiny download) where the screenshots of the double ladder in my previous post came from. Teh route will look rubbish in TS10 Native mode, but ignore that, just find the spline ladders and pull them apart and work out how they went together....

wow at the beginning point of your junction inwhich your in the track selection use the straighten tool and click on the wavy track., it will fix that problem period....

As well as having the right bits of track straightened your spline points must all be in line. Use the ruler tool to line them up,

That's how I would like my turnouts (junctions) to look, like in your pic and Andy's. It's gotta be something stupid or small that I am doing that makes it wrong. lol.
