Morning all --
A very long time ago I had an oversize banner, and had no issues resizing it when current members point it out to me, because it's not like the end of the world, but honestly, they asked kindly, etc .. I think sometimes people have egos, and they will refuse to change it, even when ask nicely ... it's like when you get into your car, everyone's is tough and might as they drive carelessly and recklessly down the road, because they're in their car until they get stop by the police.
My oversize banner had too much info, so, I did this ...
First, I decided to create a GIF banner which would allow a few things ...
Secondly, you can display a billion messages via a GIF banner, because GIF banners are basically a slide show!
Third, GIF banner can be any size, small to smaller, and still display what you like ...
I don't use mobile devices, call me old-fashion, so banner size does not effect me, however, I do understand John, and other's thoughts on this, and I respect that!
With that said, I think it is sad that N3V stated a rule, but it's not enforcing, so what's the point of having such a rule ... So, N3V should enforce it themselves since the rule is in the books, without the community doing their duties! -- they would avoid problems in the long run, because I know other members might feel single-out for having oversize banners, and then asked by their fellow community members to re-size it --
But it's not the offenders' fault if N3V doesn't tell them to re-size the banner ... And N3V should realize that community members should not be placed in the middle of it, too -- Yes, we can click and anonymously report the oversize banner, but it seems that route has dried up!
Well, we will see ...
Ish
PS. In the old forum, Boco, few of the Older One's, Peter, etc ... enforce this issue to the extreme ... they're retired their Mod hat, and then the place when KABOOM, with banners!
