Please bear with me, this is a complex crossing:http://binged.it/A0pqP4

I have a 3 track crossing just prior to a modeled BNSF/UP junction in Dagget, California US. This crossing east of Barstow gets a lot of traffic. I enjoy massive, long trains accelerating for their speed run across the desert, or WB runs slowing as they approach Barstow after completing the sprint from Needles run:mop:......but my problem.
If you look at an aerial view you see 4 tracks come together, 2 UP from North (Yermo), 2 BNSF from East. Middle tracks merge leaving three tracks. There is a xing, Santa Fe Ave, just prior to the merge on the UP tracks, them the xing at Dagget-Yermo Road (DYR). I got it working pretty well I think, but I have only been doing this since Sept 2011, so some problems/questions:
1) Signal gates work at both DYR and Santa Fe at beginning of session, but as session continues DYR xing will 'lock' closed and will not raise after train clears. Santa Fe will sometimes join in the work stoppage. This is with no other trains in this block or approaching area
2) Sometimes EB trains have to hold at the signal just west of the DYR crossing the triggers are placed on the east side to prevent tripping the crossing, but are too close to activate for a train going at speed, 50-70 mph, is there a way to set up the signals to trigger before the signal, deactivate if train stops, then trigger when train proceeds from signal....
I have made sure triggers are all assigned correct controller, moved the two triggers on the WB merging tracks to 1 trigger after the merge...I will keep working it, but any help from 'real' builders with greater experience would be helpful. (Yes, it is shameless flattery)
Thank you
Stewart
( I think I am supposed to disclose that this route is based on a DEM/HOG Terrain map from Checkrail.com that I have modified for the private use of myself...(anyone have the DEM for the rest of the run to Needles?))
