GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Whilst I love 40 and think she is one of the best 4-6-0s in America, this is not the thread to request locos, but to show them off, so I would recommend placing these photos in the requests thread.
Just trying to help. There is a reskin of 40, albeit with modern cylinders, different handrails and no dynamo muffler.

One word: Wood.

Thank you Adam. Regardless of what side of the map it represents it will be a very welcome addition.

Hello Everyone,

A bit of a change of tact here; I am presently clearing out my backlog of content and this little project has finally given myself an excuse to get off my arse to animate my own locomotive drivers. After reading through tutorials and trial 'n error; I am confident that my first little project creating a Queensland Railways DL - Diesel Locomotive, is is great sucess. Just all is required; to add the rivets for effect and to start work on the locomotive itself.

*Background*

The DL class provided the first diesel locomotive in service in Queensland, DL 1 being built to provide a light weight (maximum 6-long-ton or 6.1-tonne or 6.7-short-ton axle load) locomotive for the Mt Surprise - Forsayth section of the line from Mareeba, which since cyclonic rainfall in 1927 severely damaged the line, had only been able to support a rail motor hauling 1 or 2 goods wagons. DL1 was built by Queensland Railways in 1939, initially with C wheel arrangement but after rough riding during trials around Brisbane it was returned to the workshops and fitted with a pony wheel.

DL2 was built by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns in 1954 and the final two were built by Walkers Limited in 1961. They were initially used exclusively west of Mt Surprise on the lightly trafficied line to Forsayth. When traffic on that line grew to the point where upgrading it to 10-long-ton or 10.2-tonne or 11.2-short-ton axle load was justified, the DL class was replaced by the 1720 class, and the 4 locos were then used as shunters at various locations.

Three of the class were withdrawn in 1988-89 and have been preserved. DL4 remains in service with Queensland Rail as a backup locomotive for the Gulflander on the Normanton to Croydon line

Neat diesel, kinda looks like they made the hood a good bit bigger than it had to be.

West and midwest. I haven't found anybody with anything too similar in the east.

This looks fantastic, any chance we'll be seeing it in the "Acela" scheme as well?

First we need to actually finish the trainset itself before there's any talk of reskins. The RTL-II (shown in the screenshots) and RTL-III (the "acela" turboliner) share a fair amount of differences up front, which would require remodeling the nose and sides of the lead unit.

At the same time, this is Nick we're talking about and I wouldn't be doing my job if I wasn't bossing him around and making unreasonable demands for new models.
