1876 style Baldwin, complete with my new tender truck artworks:

This "Lake" paint was only standard for a year and a half - outside of that time it would have to be requested. The tender truck lining is regular Baldwin Style 1, however - it was present all the way back to the formation of Baldwin's official paint catalog in the late 1860s/early 1870s.

Looking good dan. Amazingly smooth texture detail.

Keep up the great work ben

Tume, the engine Im working on is a MILW S-2 class. While 261 is a S-3 class. The S-3's had 74in diameter wheels where as the S-2's only had 69in diameter wheels.
I plan to build 261 as soon as I can find some plans but thats proving futile :/

Hello,

that sounds great – eventually there will be your S2 and my S3.
At the moment I am about to apply a better steam and sound arrangement onto my S3. If you watch the video in the link below you see that it does not fit very well right now. And still I do need to apply normal maps to the textures and some other details. Also I need to rework the drivers and I also want to use LOD technique. The major work will be to create a workable driver cab. Zec and other creators have defined quite a high standard for how nice such a cab should look like :-)
And eventually my S3 will support season change, as I like this feature quite a lot :-)

Your’s TUME

And now for something (not quite) completely different:

What is it with me and moguls? :o Either way, this 4MT will break the trend once I'm done updating the mogul version and get around to the 4-6-0 and 2-6-4T versions.

LOL Ben. At some point you just have to give up and call it a night...I had a similar bug two days ago, spent until 2am rebuilding the drive wheels on my V&T moguls.

Added cylinder drains, improved the pipework and rods, applied new couplings, glazed windows, and whatall else. With the addition of a couple basic cab controls, it should be ready for texturing.

G'day all,

Well great stuff Trainboi1! I am yet again amazed at your abilities! In the workshops right now is a GE U22c, Its a bit complicated as I created the loco as QR 2600 class but got a little bit distracted! I can assure the 5 or so people who give a toss about this loco being finished it will be at the best standard I can offer! Right now I am currently lost on how to do very high quality textures (I.E doing side door panels) and that sort of stuff. Also in the baking department I get these very ugly big seem marks when I bake. Hopefully an experienced content creator from a Blender background could help me. I intend to do the handrails once the textures (HD) are applied to save screwing around! I don't care about properly doing the grills/mesh but as long as it is there in the texture (and looks good). Private message me if you care lol!

Anyway after sounding like a complete gimme pig foamer (Which I am not, I'm just frustrated!) Here it is!

Cheers! And once this beast is done anyone who helps will defiantly get Alpha testing!

Sman,
The trucks on that model look fine, and I'm sure with a bit of time the rest of the loco will too. I would suggest you make the columns between the side windows a little bit thinner, and bevel off the front windows and the side windows on the front and back(just going off what I see with a couple photos). Other than that, it's a fine start, and I look forward to seeing more progress on it.

Trainboi1,

Being new to blender I must say is very hard. How do you bevel windows? I made it from a square using CTRL+R and drawing lines across then cutting out where I wanted the windows. Urgh I know! I am very bad at this lol!

Heh. To bevel out windows, go into edge select mode, select the edges of the windows you want to bevel, and then hit Ctrl+B. Then move your mouse about until the bevels are the right side. It defaults to one face, but you can set the number of faces after the fact.

Some textures done on this, I need to do some proper weathering(right now it has cloud layers but nothing else) and the loco's detail map.
