GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Can you translate what those signs say into English?

G'day!

The signs are renameable. Those names were a mix of Indigenous Australian names.

I've been on a content creating spree lately, just getting the hang of mapping - starting with basic models such as signs.

Here is one I whipped up in about half an hour.

Cheers!

Jake.

QR NG B15 Converted

Hello All,

Jake, they look lovely; I do not suppose you could find the time to make these two style of street signs - Brisbane City Council style.

Now, I am on the final stages of my QR NG B15 Converted which I have chosen a Central Division example #290. This locomotive has been thankfully preserved by QR Heritage. This model was formerly in Gmax but I exported it over to 3DS Max as I wanted to go all or nothing on the poly count to make the details count. I shall be adding her Yorkshire Engine Company builders plates. Corrected the boiler, frames, saddle, airtanks, valances, firebox and smokebox.

Still some items to do with the frame and cab detail otherwise. She is ready to be exported. Just the tender to be created.

With Regards,

M.Gitsham

Ed,
That looks like it belongs in Railworks.
The tender, especially, looks great.

Come on, don't do that to the poor engine. ;)

Ed, they say it takes even the most-skilled creators a few solid months of perspiration to model and incorporate a finished locomotive. However, you've defied time, defeating dirty work which you'd just started a few weeks ago. That too, hopefully you've already tackled the extra materials and mappings for TANE.

One word: Magnificent.

Would that be because you (Trainboi) donated the mesh for the tender?

There's not very much of his mesh left... I think only the rear handrails and lamp irons survived without serious rebuilding or replacement.

... hopefully you've already tackled the extra materials and mappings for TANE.

At the moment I haven't, although my banner says T:ANE I won't have it running until I replace my laptop later in the year. At that point I may look into optimising the model for T:ANE. However I will make sure the model as released is error/warning free for T:ANE, even if it doesn't feature all the bells and whistles that T:ANE allows one to add to their models.
