GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

I'm hoping to make a lot of these:
<snip>

I was doing a similar project in SketchUp, where all the pieces were separate; i.e., the lights, supports, hangers for hanging from overhead wires, sensors, et cetera. Was working completely freelanced, though, yours look pretty detailed. I don't know how many more polys yours will have than mine, but I really don't think it will be a big problem for performance. Mine are between 500 and 2,000 polygons per model.

Well i finally broke down, its time to try and learn 3ds max. Here we go! Something maybe to sit outside our office building for my virtual railroad? lol

And another with maybe some lighting added? Still messing around with it.

Would those be Road Train Trailers?

Those are container chassis for 20 foot tank containers. They are built like that for 2 reasons. #1 Tank containers don't need to be backed into a dock to be unloaded like normal shipping containers. The products are usually gravity flow or pumped off so there is no previsions for getting a forklift to the back of the container. #2 The length is so they can carry the tanks fully loaded and still be able to meet the weight restrictions for U.S. highways.

That is lovely, Ryan.
Cody, you will find it to be a tedious, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately a very rewarding journey. Good luck with 3Ds Max!

Well, I used a real life traffic light as inspiration, and followed this rough plan I saw in google search. The poly count is only about twice that, but I have to redo them in Blender, because Sketchup doesn't allow for attachment points (as far as I'm aware) and I have not been able to work Gmax for the life of me. I'm going to have them work with boat's ATLS, he having already given me his blessing....just as soon as I figure out how the script works :P

Thank you sir!! :)

WEEK 2, NO WATER. THIS IS THE END OF ME. :hehe:

But anyways, this has been being re-built from scratch for a while now so nobody get their hopes up on the old model.

New content in progress....

A few new things I've started on to break up pulling my hair out over the SP1 issues with my older content...

SPMW Diffco ballast car.

And....

Santa Fe F45.

The ballast car is actually in game now, but I need to finish the LOD models and work on a few things before it's ready for beta testing. The F45 is waaaaaay far off. :)

Oh, and my SP SD9 is in game now and functional. So progress has been made there too.

MSP
