GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Looks unsurprisingly good WEN!! I hope you manage to finish them some time.

:hehe: I'm hoping so, for both Railworks and Trainz, if work gave me a few shifts off* and my sister didn't use me as a taxi.... things would be done a bit quicker :)

* contracted for 5 hours a week, 2x2.5 hour shifts and they are late evenings. So far, my hours are anything but 5 a week, average is 9.25 currently, max has been 17.5 and I got lots of holiday to take. With how much holiday I am probably entitled to and built, I think I am owed quite a lot in "free" holidays :O I got 2 days free for my last booked holiday due to the amount of overtime I did. (Ontop of what I already am entitled to.)

You lucky person you. You seem to have more holiday days than working days. A lot better than my standard 40 hour week and 33 holiday days entitlement in a year!

Mind you, I would struggle to live on only 17.5 hours a week.

Rob.

Actually, you get more holiday than me :) We get our entitlement as the hours you work (per week) x 4. So 5 x 4 = 20 = 4 weeks off.

hi, ...

Finally, thanks to Arraial light comes into play.
It looks great your Lightbeamer.

...

Now I have another 2 hours with the brushes and color mix levels spent ...
color slowly comes into play ...
Must be mapped only new, since it is first mapped roughly only a preview.

Of course, is "Not ready yet";)

Hello Ice, whats about the rod bearings?
If they are not needed by you?
Even the wheels looks with this texture not very good.

The rod bearings are still in the Modeler. Right now I need the not yet.
For the texture, if you do not like ...mhm, you need not worry, you do not get the engine safely.;)
And if you have a better .. then send it to me my Friend.
Why do not you tell me in German ... trainzfan

I know you asked Chris, but yes, its a Class 101/102 (Difference between the 2 is the engines, but all Class 102s became 101s in the end). I'm interested to see how he gets on with the mapping as I am finding the driving motor of the Class 502 a pain to some degree to map, that's the one on the left with the vents on the roof in my rendering. The trailer car was easy though.

Thanks for Info Wessex...
I love the DMU 101. (ride this in railworks) (from Sir Master Derek Siddle).
A wonderful motorcar.
Important is the right texturing for this nice Railcar.

It depends how you choose to map it. What I personally do, especially when I bake the textures, is I set all the source BMP materials to mapping channel 2 and apply the UVW modifiers on channel 2, so I can map the easy way and get it looking right. I then unwrap and flatten the mapping on channel 1, and bake the map from channel 1, and applying the map to a material set to channel 1 since this is the only one trainz actually seems to recognise.

I do this for a long time.;)

Texturing for ID1.
Flatmap ID2
channel assignment for ID1 = ID2.
Fits perfectly (Flat / Bakeing)

Only Bakeing alone is not sufficient, first, they often have to manually create the right hand Flatmap size of single objects to get and then they could to save space in the same UVW's in ends. (Stitich)

Well, they bake only with MendelRay better and not render with Light Tracer.

With the right texture weapons they can do anything.
Maxon Cinema Z.B.mit paint live on objects.
