Freightliner reveals new Powerhaul™ livery...

Some of those designs look an a lot like Some of the Shinkansens. I'd say the Japanese are ready; just not the rest of the world.

On a completely separate note. I find it interesting that the only thing available in his shop is mini-figures of himself.

His designs are interesting, and I've actually seen and played on one of his grand pianos he designed for Schimmel. I think the black ones look the best in this shape.

The aero-dynamic design lends its self to certain things, but surely his truck cabs look odd. His passenger trains, on the otherhand, are quite interesting and I agree the Japanese are very far ahead of the rest of the world.

Regarding dual headed cabs, this is a good idea particuarly where the freights share the fast tracks on the Northeast Corridor. What's interesting is the Providence and Worcester puts two tradition diesels on each end of the the way freights so they don't have to change ends. Each cab is facing outwards with the consist in the middle.

And...

So...

What's yours?:o

I still have to wonder why these weren't simply equipped with cabs at both ends like practically every other locomotives Kraus-Maffei built. I've never understood why American locomotives have only one cab.

Because American locomotives routinely run multiple unit. With one engine facing one way and another facing the other way, the expense of dual cabs and dual controls was never needed.
We did run through a period with a lot of center cab and steeple cab designs, though.

Just wondering will anyone attempt to make this for trainz 2010.?.

...my turn...again...

 Hey Joe, I think that in all probability you'll likely see this locomotive in Trainz...even though it's being slammed hard here now.

I would definantly consider running them(since we now have killer GE enginesounds)...buffers & all.

I agree. No matter how ugly we agree it is,* it's there so sooner or later someone will build it. ;)

* Believe it or not, there are a few folks who actually like it. I've seen them.

there are photos of the class 70's in the present issue of RAIL magazine. I do hope someone will make them but just TRS2010 but for 2006

Dec / 21 "More Award-Winning GE PowerHaul® Locomotives Ship."

Today GE Transportation shipped a second batch of its award-winning PowerHaul Locomotives to customer Freightliner Group Ltd. in the United Kingdom.
These five locomotives were manufactured at GE’s plant in Erie, Pennsylvania, and will join the
first batch of seven that were placed in revenue service shortly after arrival in the U.K. in November
2009. The locomotives are part of a 30-unit order placed in 2007, the largest in Freightliner Group’s
history.
Ho hum, check out the faded paint on the first order...fortunately that's not about builder "Value-added" competitive
quality, it's about underfunded user/customer "Fleet Specifications."
But yes, with the GEVO specs, you'll hear familiar sounds all over the world!

If that's the batch that arrived just after new year, then there has already been a bit of a problem. 70012 is reported to have dropped from at least 20ft when being lifted off the ship and is seriously damaged, and is likely a write off. Plenty of places seem to confirm it.

british loco's are going uglier and uglier and USA loco's are going preetier and preetier

I dont see how GEVO's are better looking then SD45's...........
Everything is looking worse everywhere, though the Brits havnt gotten any design points since steamdays, everything since seems to have been inspired by a brick, other than the Class 37's and such which I do like.

Oops...!

:hehe: This one fell almost 4-meters(13-ft) back onto the floor of the hold of the ship when one of the steel cradles broke...
