Am I the only one to notice the "New Posts" search funtion of this forum is now non functional?
Using it is my prefered way of reading this forum. I then scan through the ~120 new posts daily and decide which to read. No can do now.:(

Just worked OK for me about 30 seconds ago.

Works fine for me, must be something on your end

Have you recently upgraded to Internet explorer 9 ?

I have the same problem and it's only happened since I upgraded to IE 9 . It allows me to log in and use the new posts link once and then if i return later (without logging out) that wont work but it allows me one chance to use the "quick links - see todays posts" link then that locks out !
Once they lock out I get a page which states "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." !!

The only way round I've found is to use the delete browsing history function which clears out the cookies . You'll have to log back in if you want to post ( and I get one more chance each with finding new posts until both lock again) !

I can just see all the "I don't use Internet explorer instead I use .... " posts all lining up after this one !!

Shhhh! C'mon guys...we've been trying to get rid of the Superfudd for years now!

I mean, yeah....it doesn't work for me either!:o

No work for me for about a month now.So have resorted to going down the main list one at a time and searching by the darker posts.Shane.

Try using tools on the opening page and get rid of bing and use in private browsing.
It's the only way I can get on the forum using IE 9.

Had IE9...twice & went back to IE8...

 In IE8, I have up to 8-home pages. IE9 would only load all eight, timing-out several before I could get to them. IE8 allows you to select one homepage(a iGoogle Homepage) that loads when you open IE, then manually select the other seven as needed...or all eight if I want.

I have no trouble with New Posts, but I did configure that when I select Trainz, it automatically gets New Posts...

In the return back to IE8, no Bookmarks or Favorites were lost.

In Tools/Internet Options/Security add http:/forums.auran.com to your Trusted Sites(uncheck https).

If you do get it working, drag & drop the New Posts link to your desktop, then place it into whatever you use to get to the forums...you'll get new posts instantly every time. Just place your cursor on New Posts & drag to your desktop...

In fact, do that right now & see if it works.

IE9 dose not like the New Post. I get everyones favorite message "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms" ! I tried putting the forums under trusted sites and it still dose not work.:(

Yup... You said it! I am now a Firefox user!
No problems with Firefox.

IE was fine until 9 came out. Perhaps an SP or 2 or 3 will fix this issue.

Glad to here that!

 I was going to suggest IE9-Compatibility mode, but that may not work...

Because Jointed Rail suggested FireFox for the Folkston Web Cam, I downloaded the browser but I only use it where needed...

I'm a computer. Sure, Vista is my OS but Norton is my gatekeeper!

Well, I am firmly parked with I. E. 8 for right now, and the New Posts function here on the forums seems to work fine. No I. E. 9 for me, unless Microsoft decides to try to impose it on me through Windows Update, in which case I better watch my back in case it decides to sneak in as an automatic update.

One thing is for sure: Internet Explorer 8 sure seems to be a RAM/memory guzzler. I wonder how much of a RAM/memory guzzler Firefox is in comparison.

Regards.

Forget it...

 You are safe with "Download updates, but let me decide..."

You will get an update suggesting IE9...right click & select "Hide this update."

Dude, there are many people that are so stuck on IE6, that Microsoft had to announce an 'end-of-life' date for that legacy!

I read about IE9 in PCWorld that the homepage options were changed, however I tried the Beta & it would only load the eight pages...same for the final release candidate.

IE9 is like so html-5 that if you want a fast browser with many visual enhancements, go for it!

But due to you problems submitted here, don't be afraid to keep what you have.

IE-9 is a Window 7 thing...Vista lets me have an e-mail client(Window Mail). Windows 7 wishes all my e-mail on The Cloud(Windows Live Mail)...no thanks!

To have an e-mail client with Windows 7, you must purchase Microsoft Word full version(Home & Student don't have it), for Microsoft Outlook...

I'm a PC, I have Vista, Windows Live Mail, IE-8 & no one dictates to me what I need!
