Forum/entire site extremely slow

I'm a while behind yet, but I'm catching up...

It has reduced my post count speed though, as I'm having to wait for each post to send. (Even though I'm using Google Chrome, which is supposedly a fast browser).

HiBaller and Blackwatch,

The "remain on page" business is not unique to Firefox. I'm getting the same thing with IE, FWIW.

It's all in the plan.
1.Slow the forum down so we all get used to the speed it now runs at.
2.Announce a major repair & upgrade to improve service.
3.Bring forum back to original speed it used to run at
4.Everyone's happy forum running again.
5.Problem solved.

That's another anomaly, I use Firefox & have to select "Leave page" to continue, if I select "Remain on the page" it
does absolutely nothing.

It's not just with FireFox. This happens with IE 9 as well. It must by the timing out of the webserver that's causing the problem.

Something has changed... The forum speed seems to be "better". The admin must've spilled a beer in the chassis.

OK, so I decided to check in and see if anything was going on and got here in a few seconds. Anybody know what happened to change things all at once?

Someone, who wasn't doing their job, just got a kick in their pants! That's what happened.

Give him/her another kick for nothing. Might make them remember what they're supposed to do.
It's better but not what it should be, kick them again.

While I agree with others that the speed was a little better before, I must say that now it is a LOT better.

Seems to be back to normal bur only time will tell.

Well, shoot. You're right. I have to click that button also. Brain toot.

Bill

EDIT: Also, two more pages added to the thread and not ONE notification email have I received. So, that's out also apparently.

no change here either, still woefully slow...

Was OKish a couple of hours ago but appears to be slowing down again, bizarrely I'm getting the same symptoms on The National Preservation forums, also vBulletin, for the last couple of days, wonder if its a forum software issue or just coincidence? No problems anywhere else though.

Maybe they were downgraded to a slow speed until they catch up on their bill.

Another theory that has just enough meat to stay alive.:hehe: Or. maybe >>>

I have to get back to loading an AK47 clip.
