Forum/entire site extremely slow

perhaps I am f@!rting in the wind but it seems to help if one double clicks...with one click I can play two games of solitaire before it opens ..with a double click I can only play one game...

Slow internet speeds are par for the course here in Thailand. But I do agree the system does seem slower than usual.

Good thing the hamster server isn't over here as they would be on the grill for going on strike :hehe:.

Im in the same boat as the rest of you. I have a download speed of 60Mg and an upload of 17Mg. Any other site is fine, but anything linked with this site is dreadfully slow.

Seeing that N3V just advertised a clearance sale I wonder if N3V "forgot" to pay the bill and the server provider put everything on the back-burner until they cash in?

Good idea pfx, slow here for me too. I first noticed it when the new Forum format was introduced, I thought it was just me so didn't mentioned it but obviously not.

Hmm, sometimes the speed reminds me of an old dialup modem from 15, 20 years ago.
And not even a 5k6, but a 1k4 mind you. :hehe:

Greetings from drizzly Amsterdam,

Jan

I have noticed that things have been slow for a couple of weeks. At the moment i am using pay as you go on a network dongle and it is costing me a small fortune connecting to the forums. As stated in previous posts other sites are loading at their normal speeds. I hope this is sorted soon.

What is really painful is going to the Screenshot panel and watching those big 1024x768 shots painting down your screen line by line at dial-up speeds. I've stopped going there. Inf act, this is the only thread I will go to until it is fixed.

Bill

Incoming Transfer speed from the forum on opening this page is currently 735 bytes per second note that's bytes!

Edit just done a tracert and a ping, hmm that maximum of 1591ms doesn't look very good.

I'm getting pretty good access now, but it was really bad last night. 1.6 secs to download a page is worse than dial-up.

No offense, but yet another pointless thread started because you let off steam before you read the forums. This problem has been talked to death in so many threads now that I think the boys involved must know.

Ah, but I do take offense. I've read the other threads also and, if you noted, they have been strung out over time. So far, NOTHING has been done and, until it is, more threads than mine will be "talked to death". Complaining to the "help" desk doesn't produce anything useful so the only way this problem will get solved is for an increasing population of members to get involved and COMPLAIN!

The only time I "let off steam" is when my boiler ratings have been exceeded. I've done a slow buildup over the last two months and received not a shred of solution. If that constitutes boring repetition, then simply don't read it. Better yet, add your voice to the list of members who are dissatisfied with current service.

That,s a relief. I was wondering if the slow page loading was at my end. Still, I should have known Planet Auran would be behind it.

Slow and getting slower. My guess is that server capacity has not kept up with the increasing number of users, especially MAC and portable devices. At least N3V could acknowledge the problem and that it is being worked on.
