Hello guys, I have the same issue as most of You, I can't download anything via CMP in my TRS06, trying to do so even reset my external IP on ADSL router. But still I would like to remind especially those of You not patient enough of option of using old good TDP (Trainz Downloader Pro).

You can not download anything...Because the Auran DLS Server is DOWN and will not be fixed for an undetermined timeline

You can download, but you need to use FTP. It's a bit tedious, but better than nothing.

I have 04 and 09 and if 04 is not going to be supported and I am not going to be able to download using 04 I will no longer be supporting Auran!

Server isn't down either as it's working fine here FCT and CM started functioning normally after around 24 hours.
This is probably a long shot but if it's not affecting everyone and it's not country specific either, it could be a DNS problem?
Just in case it's an OS problem, should have cleared by now but try flushing the DNS cache. At the command prompt, need to be Administrator for Vista / Win7, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter key.
Try using a different DNS Server? It is possible, that if there has been an IP change involved in any of the servers, some DNS servers haven't updated yet to reflect the new address or for whatever reason haven't received it yet?
Reliable one that does update is OpenDNS which you can use without actually signing up, IP's are shown bottom right of the page http://www.opendns.com/
Alternatively there is Google Public DNS also works very well http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ IP's near the top of the page.
Probably none of this is relevant to the problem but worth a shot just in case.............
Many, many thanks for the advice. I am still getting used to 2010 after spending 3 weeks transferring my content from 2004 and fixing what I could so this is a new one on me.
I just downloaded 40MB without any problems, I wonder what difference that will now make. If nothing then it may give Zec or Auran and idea of what is happening with our particular problem.
Do you now see all the new content since 7/3?

Sorry to see that Auran will be losing another possible customer. I'll be another, potentially.
They really do seem to be missing an opportunity here. The DLS will be sorted out I'm sure - I remember grumbling about this when there was a similar problem after last Christmas/New Year. They fixed it and it flew.
But, preventing potential customers, who want to stay with TRS2004/06 (and 09 eventually), who are prepared to pay (yes I'll say that again in case they've missed it, pay), by buying a FCT or purchasing a (to remain unused) later version is beyond me.
I'm sticking with it for now because, ever the optimist, I'm hopeful that TRS2004 stuff may be allowed to be uploaded and available to paying 04/06 users after September. But it will require a slight shift on the part of Auran. That simple change in position would help to placate and encourage those who want to create and upload their assets - remember the creators are doing it their own time and providing it to us for free!
I make no apology for banging on about this. I'm just hopeful that a bit of peaceful protesting might just help. It will be too late after September.
Meanwhile I'm finding plenty of other sources for Kuid's. There's a stack of stuff out there, but the DLS is easier and is something I'd be prepared to pay for. But not if I cannot have new TRS2004 downloads. It's the new stuff that provides the inspiration and is the antidote to stagnation. Why cut it off?
With regard to product support, all of mine has come from the community, not Auran. TRS2004 support doesn't need paid staff.
The whole sorry business has divided the community, which when I joined seemed united and supportive, (and generally, it still is).
However, to me it really does feel, sometimes, that Auran are killing this hobby!

How come theres lots of items on the DLS that when you add them to CMP they give the [?] unknown location. If you click Start to download they just disapear.
I even bought a new FCT after it bothing me so much that I couldn't download all the stuff I was trying to. Then I add lots to my download helper after going through many pages of the DLS, click start and its lost them all AAaaaaah!!!

I agree with everything you say, I know the community seems somewhat divided on the issue but I still prefer TRS2004 and if I and many others will no longer be able to download the content whats the point.
Perhaps we should start a thread for everybody that agrees with us to make our point to auran.
I hope it does not come to the stage when I say Goodbye

Get your downloads while you can...back them up as CDP's...and store them on a RW-DVD, memory stick, or external hard drive
I'm having download problems also in 2009. I haven't tried 2010 yet.
I've run all of the methods in Zec's first post and download helper in CM2 just sits there and says that it's downloading, but nothing happens. Yes, I did wait the 24 hours that was suggested.

I am running 2009. I have an FCT valid until september 2010. Cannot download from DLS. Havent been able to for 4 days. Was working fine before they started mucking about with servers and trying to be clever. Have done extended database repair. Not sure how to refresh ? as suggested above. Really frustrated about this as it worked so well before. I am a complete PC idiot so I dont understand half of the time all the technical stuff to do. Can anyone help??

I have TRS2006 v 3092 with CMP showing 0.00 Bps forever. However, I tried FTP method as suggested by Zec and it works. After the download, CMP opens automatically with downloaded item(s) highlighted and ready to commit. See Zec's first post on how to use this method. Probably won't work for other versions. I did not do a database repair or change any settings on my end.

TRS2006 CMP worked for a while!
I have been having the same problems you chaps have been having in my copy of TRS2006
I don't have a FCT (First Class Ticket)
Have been able to resolve it by following the post of 'Zec Murphy', (Community Assistant) on page one of this thread, but by noticing some faults on his part.
In the part of his 'fix' for the problem of downloading, he states:
"1) Please first try forcing a refresh in Content Manager. This is done by first starting Content Manager, then removing all content from the Download Helper list. Now go to CM's settings, and remove your username and password. Now restart Content Manager, and re-enter your username and password. Once this is done, and CM has reconnected to Planet Auran, please try downloading something from the DLS."
Have you noticed.....after he says "and remove your username and password. Now restart Content Manager"
What happened to the bit about CLOSING Content Manager down AFTER removing your username & Password?:hehe:
And then re-starting up CM?
Also, I believe he failed to point out that when you have removed your username & password from the Content Manager Plus (CMP) (Is it Content Manager in later versions?) > File > Settings > Internet Tab......YOU SHOULD CLICK ON THE SAVE BUTTON. (So the program saves that STATE, otherwise....how will it remember the fact or state of the Username being removed/erased?)
Then close the Settings dialogue box of CMP, and close CMP
(I always make sure it has actually closed down by looking in the 'Processes tab window of the Task Manager [Right click on Bottom Tray > click on 'Task Manager'])
Start up Content Manager Plus again, and try downloading something ....like a lamppost, or a SD45 loco.

Have just stopped CMP to make sure of these instructions, and re-started it up....but now the dialogue at the bottom appears: "Unable to download, Server appears to be full"
So repeated clearing the download Helper panel, and Username...removal blah blah blah.....re started CMP, but the bottom message appears again: "Unable to download, all staff attending default beach party"
Well.....it did download cleanly for a while....I even stopped it once, after downloading a SD45, and then re-picking up on downloading Angelah's WCML merged, and it started downloading assets for that. 
Hope it helps someone to actually get out of that state of the helper panel look like its downloading something but - no spikes in the Network Speed box!

still not working for me.I deleted the assets file as instructed,let the CMP update but still the same problem:Current speed 0.00 bps, 349 days left on FCT.Its got to be an issue with the Auran server.I just they'd get their finger out and sort this.Whats the point of paying for a 1st class ticket you cant use?
