For those experiencing issues with downloading using TDH/CM after the server transfer

I've been following this thread with interest. I have the same problem and cannot use the download manager, the suggested fixes don't work. I have Trainz 2009. I was okay until Auran changed servers, so it must be their problem, not ours. And isn't it strange that these software company's computers always work fine, when ours don't. Always the same "we cannot replicate this problem". Yeah, same with graphics software, geeks who seem to have rigs that are not of this planet, at least not the primitive rigs we have to struggle with. But I'm probably way out of date now only having four processors and what I was promised was the latest GB graphics card. Mind you, like most of us rural Brits I've only got a lousy 500k broadband!

I fear that these days the software is just too darn fancy for the hardware, people writing code that even God's computers can't run. I bought Trainz 10, but find very little is compatible with it, so I'm not using it, and I'm darned if I'm going to buy any more Auran software unless all the old stuff is compatible. It is a terrible waste of those designer's time to have built all that wonderful stuff and one can't use it any more.

Why did someone here say "Trainz is just a game!" It's not a game, it is better than life, and even women and beer, when it works!

I'm right when I tell folk computers should never have been invented. Let's go back to stone age tools, at least they could be 'replicated'.:'(

hi

i am having trouble too with the download helper when downloading stuff to trs2004

i can download it the manual way of downloading via ftp link and then extracting the cmp file but the actual helper still freezes up and keeps saying retrying download. i dont wanna manually install content as there is a lot of stuff i wish to download. i too have a FCT which is running out soon and i cant benefit from using it as this problem has occured.

i have trs2006 as well and i get the same issues

Being that this fiasco happened just prior to, and extended over an Easter Holiday, and the holiday may include Monday April 5th...I think we should give them a little time...hopefully late this week the problem will be corrected.

Hi All
I have just spoken to the admin, who has told me that we are currently doing some work on the DLS servers, to try to get TC/TRS2006/TRS2004/earlier to work with it. This will affect all users try to connect to the FTP server at this time.

I do not have an ETA for when it will be back up, however we hope to have this fixed soon(tm).

DLS is up and running at the moment, just downloaded content for April 5 using CM3.2 and my FCT is still showing correctly.

I hope everyone else has the same positive results.

yes thank u Zec and Auran ,just checked my cmp and it updated to 05/04/2010 and all is working ok.

think i jumped the gun

up dated ok but when i went to down load it just sat there idolizing a way at 0 kps .then did a database full repair and a heap of down loadable items went to unknown location. plus i now have 129 built in items with red tag errors.

Downloads now working here on 2006.

Hi!
1. CM3.2 updated 5/4-10 today.
2. Downloaded some content dated 28/3-10 without problems.
3. The same content is now only listed local.
4. Deleted the content, and is now shown with date 6/4-10 on download station.
5. Did a Extended Database Repair.CM uptades to 23/4-09.
6. Get 17225 items at unknown location,but still able to download the content.

My content manager is still refusing to download anything and now i cannot even download via FTP.
Additionally if i leave it trying to download long enough it comes up with an 'Unknown content error' on anything i try to download.
