The FL State Fairgrounds is in Tampa Bay- About 30 miles from the suburb I live in across the bay(Clearwater, you know the one with the world-famous beach). I went one year.
Any of you Florida Guys, Heads up! The annual ACL/SAL Historical Society Meeting is being held in JAX the weekend of Feb 22. There is a bus tour of some local Railroading spots as well as a tour. Cost of the bus trip is around 30 bucks. Membership for the year is $28. If anyone near the bay area would like to go, let me know. I may have to leave the wife home this year She has a company cruise to plan. It's a great weekend with the Bus tour on Friday, Largest Railroad show in the South on Saturday, as well as dinner on Saturday Night. On Sunday is a trip up to the "Promised Land" Folkston, GA. I can get a SWEET deal on rooms at the venue. Drop me an email if you are interested.
H&R's Train Show ended today. I don't do H&R, but I know it was this weekend. As for other shows, I have no clue. The next I know of is the H&R fall show and then the SMRC winter show in December.
This thread has come to be among my favorites. A nine month revival makes more sense than a new thread. Here is a tapestry of upcoming Florida shows:
Case in point, the fourth annual Tampa Model Train Show and Sale is coming soon to the Fairgrounds on December 20th. I will be there, by the LEGO trains, hopefully with TS2009 and a laptop I may be getting. I'll run my FEC route and preview a CSX route.
Fast forward to February and we will have the Sarasota Model Railroad Club winter Train Show, said to be bigger because the one that presumably would have occured this saturday was cancelled. I will also be there.
In March we have the Plant City Show. I will also be there.
