First Class Ticket Purchasing Issue Continues

I bought an FCT and the process went smoothly (taking my money). Then I went to the DLS and 40 bits per second speed was still there. Ok that is a known issue with these people. I also saw that the old expiration was still up on the opening page. In about an hour that notice changed to an active FCT. However, the 40 bits per second download speed remained.

Today (the next day) I tried a DLS download but no improvement in speed. This prompted a ticket to the vendor.

Maybe someone can explain why the time delays exist in purchasing an FCT? I can see that an update to my privileges might take a few minutes since it is a background task. But then to take almost a full day to really allow me to use my purchase is beyond my comprehension. All it takes is setting some bits in my DLS profile to allow full download speed. 15 years ago that may be justified. but not today.

For some obscene reason N3V turns a blind eye to an important cash flow area. They rake in good money on the backs of talented and generous contributors of the goodies on the DLS. Why won't they address this problem?:n::confused:

Did you click on: Activate Ticket at Planet Auran site ?
Does it show that you have a ticket there, and also in your CM ?
Did the transaction actualy go through ?

Have you cleared out pre FCT downloads from Download helper or it won't change over to the higher speed until they are cleared.

Used to say at the old Shop that it can take up to 24 hours to kick in.

Not sure what the problem is but I just purchased a first class ticket, activated it on the website and 5 minutes later I'm downloading at full speed.

Ah ha, the problem, as described by Malc, was the issue. I would still consider the process flawed.

So they must have fixed the need for a gerbil to run between servers with the new customer FCT.

PS: speed 12 times faster with FCT. Well worth the cost.

Good Evening Boleyd
We limit how often CM can update the download permissions for your account, so as to not flood your connection or cause performance issues.

TS12 (pre SP1, but not sure if it was the original release) did improve this over other versions. However, we do still recommending up to 24 hours for it to update, if clearing the download list doesn't work, and/or removing then re-entering your username and password (save after removing the username and password, then go back in and re-enter them).

Any download links already in the Download Helper list before CM picks up on your First Class Ticket will have cached the download links, which would have pointed to the free server at the time. This allows CM to re-load the download helper list instantly when you load CM later on. Hence you need to clear the list to ensure the correct download links are used.
