File Explorer Opens When Exporting CDP

Is it normal for file explorer to open automatically when exporting a CDP? How can I disable that?

I think it opens because it is asking you where you want to save your CDP?
EDIT, oops, I misunderstood. Yes sometimes I end up with multiple windows to the same folder. I think it is just to verify that the cdp file is there.

Yes, it is normal for File Explorer to annoyingly remain open after creating a CDP.

Trainz always does this for me: when I click "Save as CDP", a window opens to select the save location, then File Explorer opens once the file has been created,. And, yes, this is a bit of annoying!

No, as .cdp extension is associated with CDP Explorer.

Easiest way to do this would be to see if there is already an instance of WE out there and use it. That's what I'd do.

Do you mean File Explorer? If so, I don't think an existing instance of it helps. For each CDP created, the user needs to click a total of 6 times.

1. Click to select the asset in CM
2. Right click to open a menu
3. Click on "Export To CDP"
4. Click in newly opened window to check the file-name and Save the CDP
5. Click on X to close that window
6. Click X on the "task complete" pop-op panel in CM to close it

If each window or pop-up is not closed during this process, they accumulate and need to be closed later anyway. That's a tedious lot of pointing, clicking, opening and closing.

I'm sure a more sympathetic programmer could have devised something way better. How about selecting one or more assets in CM, right click to open a panel which gives you these options;
- export to individual CDP's
- export to one multi-asset CDP (and a box to enter a name for that CDP)
- cancel
