Feather River Canyon

Update 10/30

Added two new track versions (yard and main) to replace the generic temporary track version, expanded the line east toward 'the loop', and played around with ground textures.

So far, really liking the results! (now just to work on re-coloring shrubs and trees)

Then went to go play with some new F units and my re-skinned Geeps.

When all said and done, the Trainz Feather River Route is really going to give the MSTS version a run for its money.

Western Pacific locomotive inquiry

Been taking a break from TRS for a while...but I had an urge. So... here's a quick update.

I was wondering, where can I find that locomotive? I have been looking in the download station, and on google? I have Trainz 12. Pearleman Green would be just as good. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated in advance. Thank you.

Paul

I want to say probably not. But I am not the expert. I do know that western pacific 94 was the locomotive that pulled the first train through the canyon. And 94 was repainted with gold striping for the 50th year anniversary, or was it 75th? I cannot remember.
Here it is seen in the gold

it is now back in white. How it was originally built for WP

No, it isn't. Trainz Forge has no connections with Project Western anymore, it has its own site. The units are currently unavailable.
And please refrain from quote pics. Just make a reference to the post number.

Cheers

@Timothetoolman: ...it seems I have forgotten to add the link to the Western Pacific 'What-If' page...I will make sure to add it by the weekend.

@817TAYLOR: I gotta' prove you wrong bud. The mallets ruled the canyon! I have a slide of the 257 coming off the Keddie Wye headed westbound to prove it (although I can't locate it on my PC)...

but here is proof till I find the slide...

...and proof in Trainz

@Everyone in General: As Tim stated, Project Western is and has been separate from Trainz Forge / ex-Trainz PA for some time now. Tim and I run PW, and members of both groups exchange content as well as work together on projects from time to time, but we are two individual groups with two different mission statements.

Also, keep an eye out on the PW website and this thread.

New content is arriving for the holidays

&

New shots of the Feather River Route progress (now that the holidays have given me time to work in Trainz again).

High detailed, immaculately clean, brand new, fantastic, track as that is ... I think the prototype was dusty, dirty, filthy, slimey, greasy, grimey

Update 12/20

At Last! A selection of textures that I am happy with around Keddie, CA. Still a W.I.P. but a big step towards a more prototypical route.

Awesome work! I'm still amazed at how much of this route you've made so far, and that 251 class WP Mallet is a seriously good engine. however, I hope there will be a prototype version someday. The 251's were the kings of the canyon. I had an issue of Classic Trains with some pics of the big mallets in the canyon.

Update 12/23

As promised, some shots from the FRR.

It has taken a while to mix and match colors, create new textures and details, and re-align track, but seeing the results makes it all worth it.
