Errors from downloaing from the download staion

hello i am new to this forum and game all together i dont have a fct just want to try it out to see if i like it.. i have trainz sim2...well i ve downloaded these two apps and they arnt working. so here they are:

Welcome to the game! This simply means that the connection has failed between the download server and trainz. It should work if you try re-downloading it, but it could be just server issues in which case N3V are probably doing some server maintenance, so you might just have to wait.

When you start the game (sorry, simulator) at the bottom of the main menu screen is a banner notice advising that the Trainz DLC (thats the paid downloadable content - not the free download station) will be "down" for maintenance from 10AM Tuesday AEST (GMT+10) for up to 24 hrs. I just tested the DLS and it is working fine.

well ive downloaded it muliple times and still nothing just keeps coming up with file not found or connection. also its not just one app its a whole sorts off apps unless if you need to have fct

You should not need an FCT to perform any downloads. The FCT gives you a faster higher priority connection and this may be the issue. If there are many users downloading then those with an FCT will get priority while those without will have to wait. If this is the case then try again later.

Now I just noticed in your list of assets that are not downloading, there are several that begin with a negative kuid number (e.g. "kuid_-12_209.cdp"). That indicates that these are assets that are built in to trains (i.e. came on the installation DVD or digital download) and so will not be available on the server for download. This may indicate a faulty installation.

I also picked one of your lines at random -

... and did a manual search of the DLS. The asset is there. You might try logging onto the DLS web server (http://dls.trainzportal.com/index.php) and do a search for a few of these assets.

When searching on the Web DLS replace the "_" character in the kuid name with a ":" character and where the kuids start with a "kuid2_" drop the 2_ and the final "_" and its trailing value - a long story caused by a change in the way assets are updated. So when searching for "kuid2_46415_23330_2", select KUID as the search type and enter "46415:23330" (but without the quotes). This example will produce two hits - the original "kuid:46415:23330" and the updated "kuid2:46415:23330:2" which is the one you want.

Have you checked your firewall settings?

I see you are using the MAC so stuff will be in a different location than a PC running Windows, but the technology is the same. On your firewall setting, make sure the following is allowed to talk to the DLS.

Content Manager
TADDaemon (if there is one).
TrainzUtil (if there is one)
Trainz

There may or may not be multiple copies of Trainz in the /bin and Trainz root (install) folder; Allow both if there are two.

This may help your issue with your downloads.

Cannot help you with the Mac. Anything that you see in the Trainz Railyard (locomotives, rolling stock plus a few other things that can move on tracks such as boats and aircraft) is already installed on your system and can be added to any layout you create.

Did not know about this message dated 29th March 2015.
Reference to the freeware upload (Armandale Valley Railway Route and Sessions)
This layout and sessions now show that the download station has all the extra dependencies added to the system.
When the second version of the route and sessions was uploaded the automated checking system showed that no missing dependencies were found in the DLS.
