Edit:
I want to thank you all for the support!
I uninstalled TRS2006 successfully and I was able to locate a downloads folder containing every download I ever had!
So all in all, the downloads were
As I was writing that...
Suddenly all my old stuff is back! My routes, locomotives everything. How can this be when I un-installed this thing?
But wierd enough, the route I started on in the re-installed version is there too!
What is going on!

Hello Woody,

When you re-install, you do not have to re-register. During the install you will be asked for the product key provided with the disk (usually on the manual but sometimes on the disk cover) that you will have to enter. Once the install is complete, start 06 then click on the options button and enter your userid and password and configure your desired settings.

That's all there is to it.

Good luck with the install.

Thanks alot Bricey!
I am still debating unistalling it, because since I am getting TS2009 soon, I might as well import the good content into it.

Save your Local folder to dvd or desktop. Reinstall then import content from the dvd or desktop. Simple and effective. I have had to do this many times in the last three years. You will have all of your content to date.

Mkerd,
How do I do that?
I know I ask dumb questions but I am not that familiar with the "inner workings" of transfering things on a PC.
Step by Step instructions if you can.

Open your trs folder in explorer.
Highlight Local.
Open edit.
Select copy to folder.
Select where you want to copy to.
Press enter.
The computer will copy the folder to your selected destination. When you are ready to import content go to that location and hit enter. CMP will import your content. When it is finished go to Open for edit. Press ctrl A and then ctrl m to commit the contents.
Good luck and be patient. You cannot get frustrated with the game or your computer. It doesn't accomplish anything.

sp1 for 2006

If you do decide to uninstall and reinstall your 2006 take care that after the reinstall do not start 2006 until you have first installed the last service pack which is available through Auran :)

sp1 for 2006 continued

You must install 2006 first then install the service pack. By doing this your content manager will work much better and you won't have as much frustration

Don't forget when you've un-installed it to go into your Registry and clean everything up on your hard-drive, then you'll get an error free installation next time you try it......

Erm this is dangerous advice to give someone who asks how to do something as easy as moving a folder.

Woody, although he is right, you will be well advised to get someone else who knows the registry workings to do it, one wrong step and you will ruin your registery and have to reinstall windows.

Yeah my dad says he has no idea how to do that so I won't.
Turns out, since it has mysteriously come back from the dead.

A friend of mine here has advised me not to uninstall.

So, I'm going to listen to him.

That sounds like a real good idea. Get sound advice from several guys who know what they are talking about and then give them the finger and take the advice of your teenage buddy.

Could you please enlighten us all as to where he said his "buddy" is a teenager ????
Also he stated "A friend of mine here" meaning in these forums.

If you have nothing to contribute to a thread that's just what you should post

Cheers David
