East Coast

Does anyone know where I can get a East Coast Main Line route from London Kings Cross -York passing Peterborough, Doncaster and Redford??? I've made one but its rubbish I want a highly detail or medium detailed one cause I don't have a single tree or bridge or tunnel on mine where I've been on that route and it had loads of tunnel and bridge but I couldn't fit them in.

There are two routes you can join together by "puffernutter" (55962:111049) and "hooverman" (69768:99958296), which will give you KX-Donny. They are a bit under real distance but still 60 miles or so. Search under ECML on the DLS or by the Kuids above.

Downside is they use the built-in default track, and you can't change it easily (in TRS2006 anyway).

Our ECML route is still being worked on and is looking fantastic.

I’m a bit naughty in not updating the DPS web site with new pics. Most of my time is spent looking after our Deltics on the engineering side and I’m also the Editor of our magazine. While the rest of the team carry on building !! I’ll try to update some new pics shortly for you guys.

Our Deltic Simulator at Barrow Hill, Chesterfield is running over the August Bank holiday from Friday – Monday at the large ‘Rail Power 2008’ event. Route being used is the Doncaster – Hitchin section

The plan is to release the ECML in sections as payware to help with the restoration of our Deltics.

Looking for extra route and content builders who could help with the project :)

Now put me in line to buy that. I grew up in Cleethorpes and remember the lines so well, a highlight of my then young being was when I was allowed in the cab of a Deltic at Doncaster in the 70's!

I would gladly buy the ECML today as they say :) Well done

Yes Mark Valentine was there in the beginning in 1977 as I was. Now 31 year later and having three Deltic's 26 years on I'm still looking after one of the most mind blowing engine designs ever built. A two stroke, opposed piston engine in the shape of a triangle !!

It cost us £2,500 to fill up with diesel and an engine overhaul is around £200,000. Of which there is two engines in a locomotive. Having the ECML route as payware will help us look after them. Everyone who has seen the route are taken aback on how realistic it is. It has taken 1,000's of man hours to get this far.

We are short of a route builder for the section from Berwick to near Newcastle and a few buildings. Anyone fancy building next door to Kings Cross the gothic building of St Pancras ? Also some simple ones like certain signal boxes. ;)

That would be great. I'm sure I'm not alone in wondering how the project is going.

I wish I had the time to help, I really do...I'm doing the Bishop Auckland area in TC3 at the moment, and it's turning out to be a far bigger job than I expected!

Looking forward to seeing the screenshots. :)

The route is progressing very well indeed. All of us have been quite because we have just got our heads down and got on with it. Its taking 1,000 of hours of work to produce.

Hopefully I may have some news by the end of the year on when we plan to release this next year.

We would love to have additional help with both route and content builders. Have spotted your Bishop Auckland route Miss Durhamlass ;) Would like to add more routes to the project but must be of the correct real life height to join to ours as the whole route has correct gradients and height.

Very sorry in myself not updating the DPS Trainz web pages for a few years. With being involved on working on all six preserved Deltics and deeply involved with 55002 http://www.55002koyli.com at the NRM has taken its toll.

Great news, I and, I suspect, many others look forward to this, even those who don't normally buy payware would consider parting with their money for a good cause, John.
ps. for which edition of Trainz will it be released ?

I have added some short cab view videos to Youtube, as tasters for the route we are building.

As Stuart states, it has taken hours and hours to build this route, I have done the Cleethorpes to Doncaster route and its taken me 5 years to get to near completion.

Enjoy the vids
