Several years back the previous coalition government in the Scottish Parliament was working on a rail link to Glasgow Aiport. and even got as far as producing information pamphlets. However the government in power now scuppered the plans even though a great deal of money had been spent buying land where the line would branch off to the airport. This cost a fair bit especially re one particular businessman who has now been given the right back to buy the land at a mere fraction he originally got (7 figures). This has been a ridiculous waste of public money letting some get millions for selling his land then selling it back for a gift price. It seems that the businessman concerned is a government supporter but he states he has done nothing wrong but I only wish the government we are stuck with in Edinburgh could claim the same moral stance. Good at slamming others but supercilious themselves.
Of course such plans for rail are open to yes or no feelings but the way this debacle has been done is a disgrace. Personally, I was for the line but this leaves a sour taste on politicians - or what passes for them!
