Hi All ,
Question, when i download from the DSL, where ( what folder ) do they go into , I was thinking when i re-install Tranz 2010 EE I could then just copy that folder over from a saved back-up that would save me downloading again.

Regards John (stockline)

Before you re-install TS2010, save your ..\Auran\TS2010\UserData folder. It has all of your settings as well as the local folder which has all of your downloaded content.

reply and thanks to ` bearcat245`

Many thanks for your reply , I`ll do that now, the idea was not only to save the bother of re-downloading 7.51 Gbs (134,911) files but also not clogging up the bandwidth of the DLS when i dont have to
Thanks Again. :)

why are you reinstalling it anyway may I ask

well about three weeks ago every time I worked on my layout in surveyor when I tried to save, it came up with words something to the effect of ( unable to write to the database) I have been working on the same layout for a number of years after several attempts of trying to correct the problem I got frustrated and gave up and then decided to delete tranz and start with a fresh install, before I deleted everything I copied the complete folder onto an external hard drive, I then because it was running slow did a complete reformat of C drive reinstalled Windows XP etc, when I reinstalled Tranz2010 EE, I imported the various folders from the backup which I thought might be relevant but unfortunately the same thing happened again, so this time I will take the advice from people on the forum and only install the local folder and see how it goes.

Oooooops I was 30 min too late reading this, I have just finished copying over the "local" folder 10 min ago, still never mind being retired and nothing else to do today, I suppose I could just copy the \ Auran\TS2010\UserData Folder as well
kind regards and thanks for your help

before you do something so rash as a reinstall check that you are running trainz as adminstrator and also make sure that the cmp is also runing as adminstrator.

You would find more on this as it has been covered a few time if you do a fourm search
