Hello All..

Having a problem with the download station for trainz 2010.. for some reason it will not complete downloading a file that is larger than 3 MB, ive checked the internet settings in the game itself and on my computer. was curious to know if anyone else has had a similar problem and can offer any help.

Cheers Peter

Hi Peter, first thing that comes to mind is, do you have a "first class ticket" and what sort of Internet link are you using? Dial-up, or some form of broadband (ADSL perhaps?). If broadband, what capacity is it? Am thinking if you have a slow link, perhaps the DLS server is timing you out after a set length of time and this time limit is shorter than the time it takes you to download in excess of 3MB. Also, without purchasing a FCT, your downloads (from the DLS) are artificially slowed down (shaped) regardless of what capacity your Internet link is.

I bought TS2010 today and can't download anything from DLS. Content manager says ' Unable to download, the server appears to be full, please try again later'. Ive read the announcements about the problems in March. But are they still continues? I've disabled Windows Firewall for ContentManager.exe and Trainz.exe. Don't know what to do next...

Well that's a nice little graph. But I still cannot download. Run network diagnostic and apart of:
'Download should have failed but did not.
Test 'host failure' failed.'
all passed.
Do you have any hints where should I check to make the CM work?

do you run a fire wall

As I wrote before I've added exeptions. Checked it now. Not a difference while firewall is turned off. I've read in help desk that's may happen while not having the FCT and I don't have one. But half a day without downloading nothing? I remember TS2006 times when without FCT I could download bunch of assets.

I haven't been able to download anything from the DLS for months now (since before the recent server upgrade and since). I can only download via ftp from the download page option.

Once an asset has been downloaded in this way and installed, then I can download any missing dependencies directly form CMP - unless it is 3MB or greater, whereupon the download completes but fails to install (so any dependency of 3MB and over is downloaded via ftp also).

This problem has been reported although it does not appear to be widespread. It appears that it may be a Windows API issue where an end of file trigger fails to initialise - no easy fix.

I don't lose any sleep over it as downloads are still available albeit by way of a somewhat long winded process.

It appears that there is some delay between adding serial and getting right to use DLS. I tried today about 7:00 and it works as a charm. We'll see how it will work in the afternon.

That happend to me 2 months ago downloading so i got a first class ticket for 3 months,and that seemed to fix the problem {go figure}

I feel your pain. Since this morning I'm also having a lot of CMP and DLS problems, keeps on reporting that I have reached my quota for today (did not download anything). Searched the forum and got all the usual answers. Think CMP and DLS gets the blues from time to time. Going to wash the car, maybe CMP and DLS will feel better later this afternoon.

Me too. Three days now of "the server appears to be full".

I installed TS2006 about that time (already had TS2010 installed) - wonder if that is part of the problem.

Three days of no downloads is getting old!
