Download station, server full

YEA! Just got through. It took a while though. Waited about five minutes with server full message, then it kicked in and started downloading. That never happened before. I suspect everyone is downloading all they can while they can. I have a FCT so no rush here.

Most connections will open the DLS web page, the CM's and this forum but it looks like the FTP servers are not working, hence the error messages.

what does hence mean?

Hence is the same as saying the reason why, or the reason for this.

I've got to say that apart from the 'Staggers' I had very little trouble with 2006 now I'm Windows 7 and 2009 its all gone down hill. Download speed is hopeless, and server full......server full........................................Plus constantly asking for registration. What has gone wrong with Auran??........................................................................................Beginning to lose interest.

Hi, yeh i've been having a similar problem that means that i have not been able to download anything any hour of the day for the past two weeks, if somone could shed some light onto how this can be solved without having to buy a first class ticket, i would love to hear it. Does anyone actually know the route of this problem? I have seen no announcements from Auran regarding maitenence of the DS yet this Is still a reoccuring problem. This is even more surprising considering when i had trainz 2006 installed and indeed all of my trainz games, this has never happened to me before and downloading in the past has been generally quite smooth despite me only having the regular speeds as i do not posses an FCT and never have done, but for the past month (this has been noticable the past couple of weeks particularly) the DS has been really shoddy

There's been countless threads on this very subject since at least December last year - the cause is basically too many people trying to access the free server at once, causing 'roadblocks' in a sense.

Basically, all you can really do is keep trying and eventually you may be able to access the DLS, or, the better option is to purchase a First Class Ticket from Auran which is basically a paid subscription to access the DLS (you get virtually guaranteed access to the DLS, at super-fast speeds too, unlike the free server which has a very low speed cap on it, when you can even access it).

Not everyone has the money to shell out on a First Class Ticket, but after buying one and seeing the difference, it's money well spent in my opinion.

I have been trying to download from download station all day. I keep getting this message, unable to download the server appears to be full, please try again later. I have a first class ticket, so I should be able to download, has anybody else had the same problem.

I was downloading okey yesterday, it has only started today, if anybody has any information about this problem, or can help I would be very grateful.

Hallo het valt mij op dat het steeds onmogelijk is om te downloaden.
Het maakt niet uit op welk tijdstip van de dag of avond of nacht. Nou heb ik geen first class ticket en neem dit ook niet, ik heb al genoeg besteed aan nieuwe programmas vanaf trainz ultimate tot trainz 2009 en telkens werd er geschreven dat het mooier en beter zou worden, maar telkens verzinnen ze wat anders.

The best time to download from the dls is late at night or very early in the midnight hours. That is when less people are on. I am not buying a FCT until I get a new trainz simulator. I get the error message but eventually, if you press start download abot 10-25 times, you slow download will begin.

And for the past couple of days when I try it, if I get a slot I', prompted for an FTP account logon name and password. Which I don't have. It won't accept my Trainz username and password. The FTP logon details are in your profile - it's usually your Trainz username and a special password. (FTP Details section)

Yeah, I'm aware of that. They work fine when I use CMP, but don't work when I try to FTP something directly.

For whatever reasons, CMP won't download anything bigger than about 1.39 MB, so I'd been doing direct FTP to get larger files. Now I can no longer do that.

If you are doing direct FTP downloads, try using a FTP client like Filezilla - the Manual Transfer option in the Transfer menu should help there.

The biggest problem with "peak" and "non-peak" times is that Trainz is an international hit, so like the Alan Jackson's song says, "It's Five o'Clock Somewhere", which means it's peak time ALL the time.

With the degradation of the DLS, I am more than annoyed at Auran/NV3 that they still tout "free downloadble content" as a key feature of their games. In fact, just mentioning "Auran" invokes the same sneer of contempt previously reserved for EA Sports and Microshaft, um soft.

But I finally bit the bullet and bought a first class ticket, and although I still think the acronym needs to change from FCT to LAR (legal armed robbery), it is worth it in reduced frustration alone. I was able to download everything Industrail (layout, sessions, a TON of locos) in less than five minutes! And at less than $22 US, my 1-year ticket only really costs me about six cents a day.
