Double Stack Well Cars

Howdy Everybody,
Having used the seach engine here i cant find a tutorial on loading unloading the well cars,i have read philskenes pdf on using the min and proto lars but it didnt realy go into detail how to set them up to load unload double stack well cars.any help muchly appreaceated.

Which well cars? If they are LARS, then you just need to set up the industry to supply enough products to load both layers.

Some Wellcars may not be scripted to load double layers, but some of the ones at the TPR Download depot are.

Capt collins i am using the well cars of the TPR download station,and i think i'm getting the hang of loading them but so far it only loads 3 cars,iwould like to load about ten or so.
Philskene i have read that session link quite a few times already just trying to set it up as you have is where i'm having trouble as it only loads 3 cars.
i have downloaded most of your creations,you have an amazing ability please keep up the good work.

Well, I have spent most of Sunday trying to make the well cars load TWO CONTAINERS, and I have had no luck. I have the correct well cars and all, but I can't get it to work. It will only load one container.

TUTORIAL TIME! Help please!

Have you tried the ContainerVirtuoso session? Have you followed the link I gave above? Have you read my little tutorial about LARS and ProtoLARS (mouse click on the link below)?

If you look at the screen shotz in post #2 here:

you will see that some combinations are not possible. While it is possible, for example, to put a 40ft container on top of two 20 footers, because there is no hard point with twist locks at the center of a 40ft container it is not possible to stack 2 x 20ft containers on top of a 40 footer.

In Surveyor, look at how the ProtoLARS industry is set up to produce containers in ContainerVirtuoso.

Now move over to those empty well cars, click on the Rolling Stock flyout, and place one or two of those TTX well cars adjacent to the ones that are already there.

Now click on the "?" and click on the well cars you have just added and then the ones that I placed on the track.

See the difference in the way that mine are configured?

What I did was determine which containers were not required on a particular car, clicked on those unwanted containers in the load configuration screen, then clicked on the "X" to remove them. That way they are forced to load the ones that I want loaded.

It can take a bit of trial and error.

The only way I made the TTX Wellcars load 2 40ft containers was to edit the config.txt file, that was for the builtin Auran 40ft containers.

Have a look in this screenshot:

You can see the first wellcar, there is a little "overlap" with the containers, the top one is sitting a little too low and is "inside" the bottom one a little. There is not much in it but you can see it.

Here is another shot closer, and you can see it:

That was modifying the config.txt to make it work.

Thanks again phil and aussie i have got min to load 3 well cars double stack so far thats it,more trial and error.i still have to give lars a go and see what i can come up with.
