Do you listen to music while playing Trainz?

Shriekback, Dire Straights, Deep Blue Something, The Wallfowers, Indigo Girls, The Cure, Harry Belafonte, Santana, Bodeans, Die Moldau, Wagner, Eroica, Marshall Tucker, Donald Fagen, Talking Heads.
It's no surprise that Ed has an eclectic and sophisticated audio palette. Good stuff there. Oh the wonders of the Talking Heads, and the Marshall Tucker Band is embedded deep in my soul and is one of my earliest memories. Hippy Parents!

Depends on what I'm working on.

If I'm working on a lot of natural scenery, I'll turn on some classical--soothes the mind and makes me think.

If I need urban scenery, classic rock is good--everything from Bob Seger, Deep Purple and Bread to Genesis and Dire Straights.

Of course, if I'm doing anything remotely Southern, I have to hit the country music too....:)

Call me weird, but I found a new genre to listen to while playing Trainz. That is Video Game Music!!!!

For me..when I model its hardcore underground trance usually. Keeps me awake. I dont actually run trains or play the game so...yeah...

It's fascinating to me that there are people who build such great stuff, yet seem to have no interest in running trains. I'm not complaining, but I just don't see where the drive comes from if you aren't going to run your creations.

One does a whole lot of runing just making a layout work.
I'm sure of that. I mean, I do see the pleasure in making stuff, and so far I'm not even past the reskin level. It just baffles me that there can be that much passion for creating content such as Cosmo's, which is really good and a lot of what I use, if you have no intention of running them. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Are we still on topic here?
Anyway after my Limewire almost destroyed my Trainz, I went with "Bearshare"
It is much better than Limewire and the music clarity is awesome.
I prefer country and rock.

Thanks, it's a wonder Euphod can even remember those names after all those Grateful Dead shows! I still see traces sometimes...:o

No matter how out of our tree we are the name of a good band always sticks fast, although I'm still falling from trees now (there are some downsides to being a musician although I havn't found them yet!).

:D

Considering some of the magnificent models you have made from time to time, that is a very interesting comment you make.

And me?

Well, get you ready, this is well and truly outta left field.

I listen to mantras, the Vedas and the Lakshmi Mahamantra in particular. Buddhist chants from time to time, and Shiva (Destroyer) mantrams.

...a bit...

 ...too much if you count what Task Manager is telling me...

My failure e-mails usually have web-TV or web-FM, so they probably don't count...

I have a Community Sponsored station out of Tampa, FL. I'm a member sponsor of WMNF 88.5 ...there's something there for everyone Global...

WUTC out of Chattanooga has a very eclectic program from 2:30 to 4:00PM weekdays hosted by Richard Winham, a British dude, with a huge volume of past & present cool music...

RailroadRadio.net, is very important, that includes several routes I am working on...

This & CD's plus whatever occurs on the second monitor does the trick!

A friend came by the other day & we got a great buzz watching the TRS Maglev with Driver Cameron at the throttle on '09 in Oz listening to Jan Hammer...just made for each-other I guess....

Straight from your computer, game system, or mp3 or stereo player? Even the radio will do.

It gets boring with no music so I usually pump up my iPod and jam while creating routes.Strangerly enough I tend to listen to disco and rap more when playing Trainz than during anything else.:o
I do, Trainz' sounds are disabled so there's always some music or telly on. Some sounds are that terrible that some built in objects are disabled (That shed in "Britain" with the sawing noise for example).

The missus and are going through Law and Order (dum dum!) SVU so that's usually in the background while I'm surveying. Other times, radio is streamed; some local commercial stations.

I'll have some mp3s running on the odd occasion, albums or mix sets to make pleasures last. I've three screens on my desk with one in Trainz, one with video and another with maps. I've deliberately got all three PCs plugged into the same amp so I don't end up with cacophony.

Trainz being what it is, all version considered, I rarely drive. I am usually found in Surveyor, trying to grind Trainz to a halt by placing too many scenery items (is there an objects per baseboard counter tool somewhere?). I rarely drive, just to take screen shots. I get really annoyed at having to create a session every time I want to drive so I don't.

Now that I have Direct TV (forced to because Qwest in our area is getting OUT of the cable business:'() I can tune to XM BLUEGRASS channel.

Bluegrass - - - The ONLY train-listening music!!!:p
