Do you listen to music while playing Trainz?

When building I usually have the tv on a news channel or some music.

Depending on how I feel I'll listen to stuff on my ipod. I have a fairly wide range of stuff to listen to. I found that the same background music/tv plan that I use for programming works very well for trainz (or any other similar task).

Anime music soundtracks, British light classical music (which includes Coronation Scot and Puffin Billy :D). Classical, miltary tunes and war film scores (mostly older British orchestral).

One 'strange' set I have is of songs which have an instrument (Guitar, Piano, Harp and Saxophone) which isn't good to listen to 'just to listen' but makes fantastic background music.

Finally, I have a few BBC radio 'series' (The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Journey into Space) for the rare times I need something like that while building.

I still love house, deep house and chill, sould, jazz funk etc. With a 5 minute slot of adverts once an hour (usually once every 2 hours) http://www.pointblank.fm is the best online music source for me. You can even chat to the DJs via MSN and once they get to know you, you get your name called out when you log onto MSN lol! Love it. OK, its London's primary Pirate Station but they have won awards from a number of National Newspapers

Think i'd go insane if i didnt have some kinda music to listen to while in surveyor :) , to me music is part of the relaxing fun of trainz, I listen to a lot of Punk/rock- (Blink-182, Sum 41) Aussie hip-hop and dubstep, but ill usually listen to anything once, with the exception of anything by Justin Bieber..

I tune into a radio scanner for what ever RR I'm running on. I have MRL for when I was working on that. I also have CN Detroit which covers most of the CN Holly sub.

I have never listened to music in Surveyor, though I might after reading this thread; silence occasionally interrupted by a mouse click can become monotonous after awhile. I would not, however, listen to music in Driver. Ever. Why listen to music when you're running top-of-the-line motive power on notch 8 from JR and RRMods? Methinks that is the best part about Trainz!

Maybe I'm 'old fashioned'....

but I mainly listen to... this... or stuff like it...

Anyone remember or have or can point me to the 'classic' railroaders music?
(Songs about trains, drivers, etc..) ??

Just curious... ;)

"May all your rails be shiny, and all your switches to the right track!"

Yes. Tonight was William Schuman's Symphony #7 and Hector Berlioz's Harold en Italie. What those have to do with the Southern Pacific I have no idea.

Well yea I do sometimes, like on multiplayer if the game is quiet I turn on some of Big R Radio 100.5 Classic Rock internet stream and get in the zone. But yea usually everyday I listen to something music wise.
Don't have really a favorite song just bands like Boston and Journey.

Tends to be classic rock or Disturbed for me, though lately it's been a mix of "Paddy Works on the Erie" and/or "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" by Gordon Lightfoot. throw in a few recordings of steam locomotives, a couple military marches and maybe a good country song or two and I'm set for a couple hours of track laying! :Y::D
